Listening function stopped working

I used to use the listening function to identify songs. This function doesn’t work anymore. It just opens the settings for the app. I already have all the permissions allowed in settings but the listen function isn’t working anymore. Please fix this issue.

Awesome when it works, but the problem is…

This is a great app when it works. The problem is it doesn’t work more times it does work. I usually use the song display and it’s forever searching.
I really want to use this app, but I can’t depend on it

Vinyl, CD, and Digital Scrobbling

All of my music listening habits are tracked using the apps’ feature called SongDisplay, which uses Shazaam to identify the song then tracks your habits in Last.fm. This app does more than you can ask for and it does it well.

I have not used many other features because I was searching for a way to track my vinyl listening habits on a digital platform.

Doesn't work

I bought this on the strength of an Apple News article and app store reviews. But it just doesn't work, and I have tried for weeks. Perpetual ‘searching for music’. Waste of money. Luckily only £9.99.

What am I missing here?

This app has one main purpose as I see it, and that is to improve the display of the song currently playing on your device. Only… that’s not what it does. Sure, you can start up the app and choose Now Playing and see a pretty cool view of the song that is now playing. But when the song changes, this app doesn’t seem to be aware that a different song is “now playing.” You have to terminate this app and restart it so that the currently playing song is shown onscreen. I know this can’t be the intended design so is this maybe a bug? Whatever it is I hope it’s fixed right quick because the app in its current state is useless.

Incidentally this issue is present for every device I’ve tried so far, from iPhone to iPad to Apple TV.

Monthly subscription is not an option

I wanted to test it out for a month. Even though the subscription options in the app show a monthly option, a user cannot proceed to select and pay for the app that way. Only the annual option or lifetime option are active. This technical disconnect between what’s displayed versus what works doesn’t give me a lot of confidence.

This is an app that I have been using since 2020. I consider it one of my primary & daily use apps. Have been some bumps in the road with challenges but the developer has aleays been communicable & responsive. App gets my 5 Stars.

Amazing/awesome app

This is a super great music app I recommend I really love knowing more about music I listen to and other things that I can do in this app. But keep updating the app if there’s bugs, glitches, etc from people that saw and told you about I really want to see more from this app it’s a super great app I recommend using this app for anything about music that you can do.

Nice app.

If you are looking for the ‘behind the scenes’ info about a track or artist that Shazam lacks, you probably would enjoy this app. The developer is responsive and actively maintaining/improving the app. Another gem of this app is the Display feature, especially on an iPad and optionally mirroring to an Apple TV. This is quite nice if you listen to Internet radio streams that don’t have metadata, as it provides continuously updated track/artist info of what is currently playing.

Compatibility with older iPads

At the moment the app requires iOS 17, but ideally we would like to run the app full time on deprecated hardware rather than on new devices.

Any possibility of enabling the AppStore to allow downloads of previous versions?

Thank you for your feedback! As far as we know, it’s impossible to download older versions of the app for older models unless you have already installed it. We’ll take using older iPads in consideration for future updates.

Works off and on

When it works, it works well. Access to microphone is allowed. After trying several times, it works sporadically. It will stop listening by itself, or it decides to listen and work. Would be nice if lyrics came up automatically when the song does, instead of having to navigate to lyrics.

Hey, This should not be happening. Please make sure that you have given NowPlaying access to your microphone. If you have the default mail app installed, please send us a bug report via the bug report button in the preferences page. After pressing "Listen" and giving NowPlaying access to your microphone, it should detect music around you. We have taken note and will check what might have caused this.

music app i didn't realize i needed

this is so nice for setting up on an idle extra ipad an leave it running catching any audio everywhere automatically in a way that feels much more natural than shazam or other "look up current playing track info" app.
