Buggy…..
Just started my trial. Logging with voice seems useful. Only a few barcodes recognized so far, when they are you just get a generic estimate for the product, not what it actually contains from the nutrition label. Logging a meal with photos seems very inaccurate and gimmicky. AI told me this was the only app that could log foods from my Apple Watch…. Which is why I installed it. But that doesn’t work at all. The watch app simply displays the days progress. The iPhone and iPad apps don’t sync even though they are on the same account. There is no explanation of what “premium” vs “unlimited” gives you. I feel like this is a new app with potential but not fully implemented yet. I am unlikely to subscribe. Edit: another bug…. Does not record to Apple health properly, e.g. if you edit an item it leaves the old one and adds the change on top so it gets duplicated. (yes my permissions are set)

Idiosyncrasies But Fine
I’ve used dozens of meal trackers over the years, including the big guns, and my AI and I narrowed my options down to two. I opted for Nutrola because of the lack of friction from the app, its reasonable accuracy and its interface. Its analysis is faster than Wellings, which was my other choice.
The fasting element is rudimentary and the sleep tracking is iffy (what’s it even for?) but what is SHOULD be doing I think it does well.

Too expensive
At $40 a year, this app is simply not worth trying.
