Easier to use the website

Good idea for an app but too bad it’s easier to use the website.

Love The Org not the app

The website is very informative and useful. I really wanted this to be a great product but essentially the app is a frame of the website that lacks the expectation of an outdoor mobile app. Perhaps NWAC can partner with another organization to build a better app (updates, alerts, etc) and I would be happy to change my review.

No info

Literally no forecasts

Doesn’t fetch any data

As others have observed, the app doesn’t connect, doesn’t download forecasts, observations, or anything else.

Set a bookmark in your web browser and use that.

To the developers: if you aren’t planning to fix this, can you please save everyone some time and frustration by pulling this app from the store?

Used to work...

For some reason it stopped updating. Shows no observations. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled several times. No luck.

Worst of all the avy apps out there. Period.

Get your app up and running.

Needs to be updated

Please update

Please update.

It used to be cool, but it hasn’t been updated in who knows how long. Use the site.

Never Updates- Use the website instead

The app never has any current data. Actually no observation data at all... I would think Black Diamond would want this app up and running well if their name is attached to it.

Don’t bother downloading the app. Use the mobile website.

Seems to not be working anymore

Re-downloaded for the 2018–19 season and the app seems to not load any NWAC information. All regions say there’s no forecast.

No longer getting any data

Always shows as "no information". You have to use the website, rendering the app now useless.

Handy, but no new data

The website is showing reports, but the app is still blank. 😒

Broken app

Please update, I liked the app but it doesn’t download new forecasts any more! Also, still has black bars on top and bottom on iPhone X.

Mobile website better.

Not worth the hassle. Hope they got some decent money from BD though.

Great Northwest Mountain App!

Whether you are a gonzo powder hound or just need to know if Snoqualamie pass is likely to be open, this app has both weather and mountain conditions. Easy to use, just tap the map!

Shout out to Black Diamond for sponsorship and be sure to look at joining NWAC! (They have cool swag...)

Disappointing

There are already much better apps available to access the Avy forecast. not sure what the point of this was, except to advertise for BD. Really it just makes them look bad.

works fine

works fine for me

Poor Showing

Fail! Sloppy attempt. The imagery is pixelated, navigation is clunky, and the advertising from Black Diamond is intrusive.

A good measure of the success of an app is whether or not it improves the user experience over the original website. In this case, the app is actually worse than just looking at NWAC in safari. A lot worse.

Black Diamond needs to take a cue from Patagonia and back off in the ads when they support apps like this. Ask yourselves, "What would Chouinard do?"
