Great UX, unreliable bus times
This app is very confortable to use, but the consistently unreliable bus times makes it unusable in practice. I thought it was using the official MTA times but I’ve been getting different times from other transit apps.
Edit: I was confirmed it’s using official MYA times which, I’ve learned since, are unreliable. Unless you roll out a crowdsourcing system à la Transit, there isn’t much that can be done.

Great, but with a few flaws
I tried this app and ‘NYC Subway’. This is a far better app.
I was visiting from out of town and had visited many years earlier. I like the NYC subway. It is easy to get around.
But some things are confusing and this app just does not get it right. We were staying at a hotel near the 33rd street, green, #6 line. During most of the day, only the #6 train stops there. This app’s map says that the 4 also stops there. It does, but only late at night. It took me a day to figure out this error in these maps.
But the route directions to get from one place to another were fine most of the time. We wanted to go to Yankees stadium. The app sent us south on #6 to 14th street to change to the #4. We ended up going north on #6 to Grand Central Station, then switch trains there. That seemed far more logical.
Still, I could not have found my way around the NYC subway without this app.

Bus transit never accurate
Always end up waiting longer than time it says
NYC Transit, seems about right!!
The app works… mostly. The design is genuinely pretty, the colors don’t hurt my eyes, and the core features (live bus location, countdowns, alternate options, and estimated arrival times) actually do what they’re supposed to. Solid B+ on the “not completely useless” scale.
For the price though? It’s giving “I’ll get to it when I feel like it.” Arrival times regularly exist in their own timeline, routes forget to update like they’ve got better things to do, and on event days or holidays the app just throws its hands up and offers the same generic schedule it’s had since 2019. Real helpful when half the city is shut down.
Saved stops and favorite lines? Cute idea. They work when they remember they have a job. And the “bus only” filter is delightfully inclusive — still shows trains like it’s trying to unionize public transit.
It’s functional enough that I’m not deleting it yet, but it could stand to receive some updates before it fully commits to the bit of being an expensive suggestion app.

Search function sucks and not real time info
Under lines, it does not show all lines. If you search for one, it doesn’t come up. Why???
The LIRR is closed for a strike, yet they only bring up two routes and both are on LIRR… seriously? If you want to see more than the two options pay up. No thanks.

It’s 50-50 whether or not the bus arrive based on the app schedule

Honestly I just like the fact that it’s free, maybe an ad pop up every once in a while but I can map my route out no issues.
Keeps getting better
This is my go-to NYC transit app. Developers keep looking at ways to improve & expand the app’s services.

Muy mal servicio todas las mañanas, choferes racistas, impuntualidad y aparte le dan servicio a quien les parece no a todo el mundo.( No habren la puerta ) el chofer 808 de hoy 3 marzo de 2026 siempre hace lo mismo. Se ríe en tu cara y te deja esperando abrir la puerta y aunq valla vacío el nunca me habré la puerta para subir.

Half the time the train and bus lines disappear, and don’t come up when you search for them.
How does the R, N AND W just disappear into thin air. Such a mystery.
Travel issues
I don’t think I’m the only one experiencing this issue. Every time I try to plan for travel, it gives me everything but the fastest time and route and it makes no sense!

Don’t know what was going on with MTA’s service on Fulton Street going to Broadway Junction but both bus and train service sucked😒
