About

Offhand is an AI notetaker for the things you would otherwise forget. Record a conversation, type a thought, or save a link. Offhand turns it into a structured note — title, summary, key points, action items, topic tags — and then lets you ask questions across everything you have ever captured. RECORD AND TRANSCRIBE Live text appears on screen as you talk, so you can see you are being heard. When you stop, the recording is transcribed properly, with the speakers separated — a meeting comes back as who said what, not one long paragraph. Recording keeps going while your screen is locked. SUMMARIES THAT ARE ACTUALLY STRUCTURED Every capture comes back with a title, a summary, the key points, the action items, and topic tags — not a wall of raw transcript. ASK ACROSS EVERYTHING Ask a question and Offhand searches your whole corpus to answer it, pulling up a full transcript when a snippet is not enough. Answers arrive with citations back to the note they came from. HANDS-FREE Ask out loud and hear the answer read back, for when your hands are full. TEXT AND LINKS TOO Typed notes run through the same pipeline. Send a bare URL and Offhand fetches the page and files it like any other capture. CALENDAR CONTEXT, ONLY IF YOU TURN IT ON Offhand can read the title and invitee list of the meeting happening while you record, so summaries use real names instead of "Speaker 1". Nothing is written back to your calendar, and nothing is read outside a recording. WHAT IT COSTS Nothing, for now. Offhand is free while it finds its feet — record and ask as much as you need. There is a fair-use ceiling that resets each month, and normal use does not reach it. If a paid plan arrives later, it will be announced in the app before anything changes. ABOUT YOUR AUDIO The live text you see while recording comes from your phone and is never uploaded. The recording itself is uploaded and transcribed by our transcription provider, AssemblyAI — that is how every note gets made. Audio is encrypted, kept for as long as the note exists, and deleted when you delete the note or your account. The privacy policy spells all of this out, including what the provider keeps. Offhand carries no ads, no analytics SDKs, and no tracking.
