What Happened?

I have tried several times to open this app but nothing happens. I've used it and loved it in the past but for some reason, it is completely greyed out. Is my iPhone 11 too outdated?

Tried several times

Have installed this several times, but refuses to search. First version a few years ago was great. Could pull up the area I was in on the map, ask it to search for campgrounds, and I would see all in the area. Pretty easy. Then it quit last year, would time out. Tried downloading a current version and first got a fantastic satellite image, but no identifiers to give ma an idea of where I was looking at. Tried again and now won’t do anything but let me choose what activities.

In north america, or just USA?!

Can’t identify simple bike paths outside of USA… not worth the try.

No longer works

The app just closes itself after a search is initiated.

Good filtering but data may be outdated

I’m looking around at parks in Southern Maryland and around Northern Virginia and many of them have bad URLs or, in the case of one park in MD, permanently closed. The ability to filter by activity seems good but I haven’t verified the accuracy of data.

App unresponsive on first page

This app doesn’t even open. Can’t click the box on the very first page to type a location. Like it’s grayed out. Useless. Don’t waste your time.

Worthless! Useless!

We are covered up with parks in Arkansas. This app can find none of them.

Great park finder

Great park finder, even just for having lunch at!!

Find “lunch stop”

We have used app this for a variety of reasons. One of the best uses we have made of it is when we are driving long distances. Instead of going into a restaurant where we continue sitting we find a park and do a mini hike. Thanks Ranger.

Bad layout

You put in a new city and the app just goes back to where your at. It will not load a different city. The map isn’t by street names it’s the topically view so you have no idea how to get to the park. The parks are at least 3 blocks away from where they really are. The parks on your app are showing in the streets.

Terrible

This app does not work. I found it through their desktop site and the app can’t find any of the sites I was looking at on my computer. Have to have your location services on to even search (the keyboard wouldn’t even pop up when I had my location off). And it crashes when I searched for something it couldn’t find. Was trying to find whiteside campground as it’s listed on their website but apparently there’s nothing in the app.

stuck in place during this pandemic... app keeps me and kids sane!

We’re up at a family house on Cape Cod. Found some neat places I’ve never heard of and have been coming to this area for years!

Kept crashing

I never got to use the app because when I hit Find Parks it would crash. Also, it’s not user friendly because it would not allow me to type into the location box and I had to figure out to choose Things to Do before I could do anything else. Had to delete.

Defaults to parks near you, doesn’t work for planning purposes.

I am unable to find any Park for planning purposes. It appears that it is geared to finding parks near you. I don’t find it works to find a park in a different location.☹️

What happened?

This app used to be awesome, but the “update” has rendered it near useless. You used to be able to expand your search radius in miles, but no longer. Also, it does not show parks in the area that I know exist, even when I don’t select what I’m looking for specifically. I’ll keep it around, just in case another update fixes this, but for now I am using AllStays.

Not really for Camping :(

I grabbed this in hopes it would show me some places to camp in New England. After searching for camping it shows zero results, and this is in NH and Maine!

I’m guessing this app might be more popular in other areas of the country. It’s too bad because the interface and layout is really nice!

Nothing will load.

I used to use this app all the time. I moved recently and wanted to find new places in the area. The app won’t let me type in my location and when I choose activities, it takes forever to load then crashes.

Does It Work

I can’t get the app to work. When I type in a place (such as Shenandoah National Park), I get no results...just a pop up screen that is blank. I know there are hiking trails in this park. I can’t recommend an app that doesn’t seem to work. Disappointed.

Re bug fixes

More bugs than before.
Can’t type in location of interest, other menu selections blowup an app closes down.

Not worth the download

Too busy crashing to do me much good, and that’s on a phone that was very recently wiped and reloaded so didn’t have a bunch of garbage on it. Also, it even puts parks in that are just the little neighborhood parks for kids. I was looking for an app that shows good places for camping, not for playing on see-saws.....
