National parks INFO incorrect

It looks like the app has just generically covered any national park zone as a no fly area. In Queensland Australia most national parks are flyable.

Information is comprehensive for commercial operators

This app is a one stop shop bringing together a range of Australian aviation information and maps all updated constantly to assist with planning RPA operations.

The CASA automated airspace approvals component is well designed for managing a large fleet of aircraft.

Commercial operators will appreciate the detail in the information!

Expensive

Speaking to other drone operators they all have used this app including me and we all have the similar attitude regarding the cost as it is simply ten times more than what we would be willing to pay. Makes me think how many sales would have been lost. If I developed the app I’d rather have 20 sales at 24.99 rather than 1 sales at 249.00. If it had other features like some components that competitors have perhaps it might be worth the cost but it doesn’t so we still need many other apps. If you look at it from a ReOC holders perspective it would be great if there was one stop to get all the details for a job analysis.

Spreading CASA’s misinformation still

All these drone apps are useless. The majority of drones flying today are now sub 250g category. The rules/laws are totally different for this class but not one single drone app reflects this. Each developer blames CASA for not providing enough information when all they need to do is add a sub 250g category and associate it to the geo zones near controlled airports. It’s spreading misinformation which CASA is well known for.

Needs more work.

Not setup for new Australia sub 250g category.
Would be nice to include the national parks go no go information instead of a generic message.
Otherwise working great on iPhone 12 pro max as of 2022 aug.

Thanks for the feedback. We are waiting on CASA for direction on this. To maintain our safety app approval we need to adhere to the requirements as specified by CASA. We've spoken to CASA about this as we have been asked by other pilots as well. When they advise we'll make the adjustments. Hopefully this won't be too far in the future. There's only basic information about National Parks available, but always on the lookout for more data sources that we can use to build more detailed feedback.

Far over priced

You need to get real as to you cost for the subscription,per year as Ozrunways is far superior and offer extensive options at a lower price of $119.00 for what is required for Drone review , just a bit more $169 and you have just about the full OZ runways sweet, all you will have in OK2FLY is change to select ReOC or Repel selections to provide basic additional information, clearly you need to go with very small subscription or outright payment at best this would be a 25-35$ yearly subscriptions app.
Unfortunately apps store makes you include rating so reluctantly had to give 1 star

Thanks for your feedback. We’d like to think the software is worth the $250 annual fee. You may not be aware, but the app includes the Airspace Authorisation functionality which greatly streamlines the approval process for drone pilots operating in airspace around controlled airports. To date and based on the number of approval requests processed by our software we estimate we have saved drone pilots upwards of $214,000 in CASA fees and countless weeks waiting for approval. We also provide the software free of charge to Recreational drone pilots.

How do you see where recreational <250gm drones can fly?

Thanks for the feedback. Currently waiting for CASA to advise on how they would like approved safety apps to handle the sub 250g drones. Hopefully that won't be too much longer. We'll make the changes when they advise and push out a new version.

Works, but way, way, way too expensive.

$249 is a far reach for this app. It’s got info, yes, but overall, the totally free DJI Geo Zone has the same flight zones information for NO dollars.

You’re asking for $249 EACH YEAR? $249 per year? What? Over $20+ a month for this simple tool you might use now and then.

Curious, based on $249 a year, how much to buy it outright? $1K?

It’s not THAT useful or good to justify the outrageous price.

Thanks for the feedback. The app is free for recreational use and provides all the information you need for that type of flight. For commercial and ReOC use there is a fee charged to give access to extra information required for those operations, plus we are adding more features (like traffic and soon to be weather’ as well.
