Bad adverts
Just downloaded the app and it asked me to complete verification when I clicked on the link it wanted a 2p payment. I assumed this was part of the part but it was a third party advert trying to set up a subscription. Luckily my bank blocked but shame on Olio for allowing such scamming adverts on their app. As a new user it wasn’t clear this was an advert rather than part of the app.

Can’t sign up/login with Apple account.
Would love to use this app, but I’m not able to sign up/login with Apple account. The option is there, but when I click it, I get a notification stating that this account is not found…

No support for FWH
New account maliciously broke rules and reported me for made up issues like multiple accounts and off food and made new accounts to do it. Everyone local and the stores know me and knows it wasn’t true but no olio support on the matter. Great app for waste but zero help for volunteers

Thank you for sharing this, and we're sorry to hear how stressful this has been for you. To be clear, Olio doesn't suspend or penalise volunteers just because a report comes in. Every report is investigated, and decisions are based on the evidence available to us, not on accusations alone. If you believe this decision was made in error, you can appeal it directly. The appeal form is linked in the warning or suspension message you received (either by email or through Olio's Little Helper), and appeals are reviewed by a member of our team. Team Olio 🧡

My friend introduce me to this app and I like it because not only we help not to waste food or any things that we don’t want. Someone outhere need it for themselves and feed the hunger for alteast one meal or two. Helping other for me is one best thing I can share in this world. Wot the help of olio I managed to achieve it in my small way.

Some good points, but untrustworthy review system
I have had mixed success on here. People’s ratings are misleading. I bought a very low quality bed frame, but I was not able to leave a review for the seller because they removed their listing, even though I had already bought the item in question and had it delivered (expensively).
Some people use this platform to get rid of their unusable junk, and there should be a mechanism for separating these users from reliable people

Made my mom crazy
I’ve rated this 5 stars to get to the top, but as soon as my mom’s got this app, she’s completely stopped buying groceries. It’s gotten to a point where we don’t have any fresh bread or milk for weeks because she’s getting all of the off free ones. This app has ruined me and my father’s life together.
