About

OLLA is a specialty coffee companion built around bean cards and a structured Coffee Codex — now with an on-device label scanner, cupping sheets, a personal coffee journal, and iCloud sync. Every bag of beans has its own timeline. OLLA turns each coffee into a clear, searchable record, and builds the tools of daily brewing around it. No account is required, and your personal coffee data stays on your device. SCAN A BAG, GET A BEAN CARD Point your camera at a coffee-bag label, or pick a photo from your library. OLLA reads the origin, variety, process, roast level, roast date, altitude, and weight, shows every recognized field with its source text, and fills a new bean card after your confirmation. Recognition runs entirely on your device — the photo is never uploaded. Keep the bag photo as the card cover if you like. BEAN CARDS — YOUR COFFEE RECORDS One card per bag: variety, process, origin, altitude, estate, roast level, roast date, purchase date, price, notes, and resting status in one clean place. Based on the roast date, OLLA tracks resting progress and suggested drinking windows, so you always know which beans are ready and which need attention. The home dashboard summarizes today's rotation at a glance. COFFEE CODEX — THE KNOWLEDGE BEHIND YOUR BEANS Explore structured, cross-linked entries covering origins, varieties, processing, roasting, estates, equipment, brewing, and sensory work — all eight categories fully visual. REF data cards summarize altitude, flavor, harvest context, processing details, grading standards, variety genealogy trees, and real roasting curves. While creating a bean card, origin, variety, process, and estate can be picked straight from the Codex. BREW LOGS AND CUPPING SHEETS Log grind size, water temperature, ratio, TDS, extraction yield, ratings, and a six-axis sensory panel. When extraction and strength both land in the golden-cup range, a gold note marks the brew. Cupping records use an SCA-style ten-item sheet with a SPECIALTY stamp at 80 points and A4 PDF export. Any brew, bean, or cupping can also become a lab-sheet style image for sharing. COFFEE JOURNAL — A REPORT THAT GROWS WITH YOU The journal turns your records into a personal analytical report: brew rhythm heatmaps, flavor DNA, an origins map, a golden-cup chart, a bean ledger, and milestones. Every figure is derived on your device from your own data. TEN TOOLS AROUND THE CORE Brew timer with step recipes, recipe library, ratio calculator, extraction-yield calculator, espresso lab, brewing-water recipes, cupping score sheet, grind guide, roast reader, and a flavor wheel. WIDGETS, REMINDERS, AND SYNC Pin beans to a Home Screen widget and check resting progress without opening the app. Local reminders follow resting and drinking-window milestones. Sign in with Apple (optional) and iCloud sync keep bean cards, brews, and cuppings moving between your own devices — through your private iCloud container, never our servers. TRILINGUAL Use OLLA in English, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese, switchable inside the app. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No sign-up required. No tracking, no ads, no analytics. Bean cards, brews, cuppings, notes, and preferences stay on your device and in your own iCloud. Camera and photo access is requested only when you scan a label, and recognition never leaves the phone. OLLA is a quiet, practical coffee handbook — a place to keep your beans, understand their background, and refine every cup.

What's New in OLLA Brew Lab

1.1.7

July 12, 2026

What’s New in Version 1.1.7 This update further strengthens OLLA’s professional workflow for coffee records, reference, and brewing analysis. • Rebuilt the coffee variety database based on the World Coffee Research catalog, adding agronomic data such as yield, disease resistance, and bean characteristics, along with more coffee varieties and named Robusta lines. • Improved variety selection: commonly used specialty coffee varieties now appear in a dedicated Popular section when creating bean cards, cupping entries, or brew records, while the full catalog remains available. • Added a new brewing water formulation tool supporting two-water blending, mineral additions to distilled water, and recipes calculated from SCA water targets. A searchable database of approximately 80 bottled waters is included. • Added a flavor map and extraction balance chart to visualize water hardness and alkalinity, along with acidity, sweetness, bitterness, and temperature balance. The display also adapts to the roast level of the selected bean card. • Unified flavor recording with the new Sample Bench color band across brew records, cupping entries, forms, detail pages, share images, and cupping reports. • Fully optimized major screens for iPad with centered, width-limited layouts while preserving the existing iPhone experience. • Improved name display in the codex by prioritizing original-language or English names instead of transliterations. • Improved card expansion animations and fixed background transitions, screen jumps, link flickering, and other stability issues.
