OmoiMekuri – One Photo a Day

The photo that matters comes to find you today. OmoiMekuri brings you one photo a day from your own photo library. The same photo shows on your Home Screen widget and in the app, from morning to night. No account, no ads, and your photos never leave your device. ■ Start with a collection Name someone you love, a pet, or a place, then add photos from your photo library — several at once. Adding around eight or more keeps the same photos from coming back too soon. ■ Today's photo Open the app and today's photo fills the screen, with the collection name above it and how long ago it was taken below: "3 years ago today," "5 months ago." Tap for full screen, and leave a note on any day you want to remember. ■ No repeats until the round is done The app builds one full round of the photos in a collection and steps through it a day at a time. As long as two or more photos can be shown, the same photo does not come back until the round is done — and you meet photos you had forgotten. (If only one photo can be shown, that photo stays.) Choose the order: shuffled, the order you added them, or an arrangement you set yourself in the collection editor. ■ Home Screen widget Small fills with the photo and a date badge. Medium sets the photo beside this month's calendar, or beside the day's note if you prefer. Tap to open the app on today's photo. ■ Calendar Every day's photo sits in its square on a month calendar. Tap a square to open that day below it, tap again for full screen. The share button turns a whole month into a single tall card image you can send, or save to your Photos app. ■ Hide for now Set a photo aside for a month when it doesn't match how you feel. Nothing is ever deleted — bring it back with one tap. ■ Your photos stay on your device Photos are never sent anywhere. What the app keeps is your photo library's identifier, and it reads the photo again from there each time. The one exception stays on the device too: a downscaled copy of the one or two photos the widget needs is written into the app's own storage so the widget can draw them. Anonymous usage measurement records things like the type of action taken, counts such as how many photos or characters, and which preset option was chosen — never your photos, the text of your notes, or your collection name. ■ OmoiMekuri Pro The daily habit itself is free. Today's photo, the widget, the calendar and its month card, "Hide for now," notes, and backing up your data cost nothing. Pro opens up four things: • Add as many photos as you like • Build as many collections as you like • Look back at every month you have kept • Choose any of the five photo frames The free plan includes 20 photos in total across every collection, 3 collections, the current month and the three months before it, and one photo frame. For photos and collections, reaching the limit only stops you from adding more — nothing you already have is deleted or hidden, including anything restored from a backup. For the calendar and the frames, what sits outside the free range simply isn't shown; the records stay.
