Not having the app make the brake controller completely useless. Our trailer brakes locked up due to not being able to control through the app. What a waste of money.
Last update won’t allow me to connect to brake controller
The last software update made it so my phone cannot connect with my Echo brake controller.
Therefore, I cannot use it for added brake control for emergency braking of the trailer. Disappointed that it won’t work now. I even deleted the brake controller and re-paired it and also uninstalled the app and re-installed it. Neither attempt at fixing it worked for connecting to my brake controller.

Unusable App Since Update
The app no longer allows adjustment of the Max Output for my Brake Controller. It was fine before the most recent update, but now the confirmation button is offscreen due to improper sizing. Please Fix!!!!
Can’t set brake levels.
The original version of the app worked but things have gone downhill since they were bought.

App never loads
We previously used the Curt ECHO Smart Controller app when we would travel with our small teardrop trailer. Electronic brakes might be overkill on a 1700lb trailer but it seemed to work fine the few times we used it. On our first camping trip of the season last week we realized we needed to download this app to manage any of the settings as the previous app was discontinued. It crashes immediately every time on the splash screen so I can’t comment on any of the actual functionality. I did reboot my device to see if that would correct it but no luck. I haven’t reached out for support because we use it so infrequently that it’s not worth it. So for me it’s no stars because I would expect a non-beta app to at least load.

Crashes on opening
I’ve got a camping trip tomorrow and now the app won’t even open. It just crashes every time. This makes me very nervous about my first time, towing the trailer up to the mountains.

Absolutely garbage. Should have just wired up my own trailer brake. Doesn’t work after a single use.

Yet another product ruined by an “update”. I recommended it to everyone when it was the echo but now the app can’t even start without crashing.

The App update has problem
After updating to latest App, the App keeps crashing. The new version App seems having new design with brand new UI. Not sure if the App data migration caused problem. I ended up reinstalling the App to make it work again.
Crashes immediately when attempting to open on an iPhone 17
As many have reported, the “new” app does not work and now my brake controller may not be functioning. After over a year of the brake controller giving me “disconnected” errors, it spontaneously started working for 3 trips. Now, the app doesn’t even open, it just immediately crashes. According to the information, the brakes should still work on their prior setting but I don’t have any way to know that they are. This is extremely dangerous!!! Fix these issues NOW before my lawyer tells you how much this negligence costs!

Not useable since last update with echo brake controller.
The latest update has made it unsafe and unusable with the echo brake controller. Can you provide a path to the old software from Curt that worked fine.
Break adjustment
Love the controller however I can adjust the break setting on my iPhone. I can adjust it however I can hit the accept button but aside it’s off screen. My new trailer doesn’t need brakes at 50%.
No reason to require location services for braking
This absolutely annoys me to no end. You do not need location services for the brake controller functions.
You also don’t need notifications.
I despise these kinds of apps.

Won’t even open at the moment, trying to leave on a road trip. What a terrible feeling to depend on something as poorly made as this.

Why was the upgrade app not pushed out to users? Maybe an email notice could have been sent, seeing that we are registered to use this app.. unfortunately we found out the hard way when opening the app only caused it to crash. I would say you need better Project Management, get it together please, having trailer brakes that work is crucial. It’s not a video game!!
