Bad count

It was very bad at counting colonies and counted much lower on a plate I counted myself. I counted 21 and the app gave a count of 3. Not accurate. Don’t recommend.

Great!

Just one suggestion. can you do a bacteria colony identifier

FAQ

What is OnePetri used for?

OnePetri uses AI and computer vision to automatically detect and count plaques on petri dishes. It also performs common assay calculations based on these counts, primarily for bacteriophage plaque-based assays.

Does OnePetri require an internet connection?

No, all image processing and detection are done locally on-device. Once installed, an internet connection is not needed for the app to function, though regular internet access is recommended for updates.

How accurate is OnePetri's plaque counting?

The app's models may occasionally miscount plaques. It is recommended that all counts be validated by manual counting or another established method, especially for critical experiments like phage titration.

What types of petri dishes does OnePetri support?

Currently, OnePetri only works with circular petri dishes. Support for square and rectangular shapes may be added in the future if sufficient training data becomes available.

Is OnePetri free to use?

OnePetri is a paid application, available for $0.99. It does not have in-app purchases or advertisements.

What devices is OnePetri compatible with?

OnePetri is available for iPhone, iPad, and iPod devices. It has an age rating of 4+.

How often is OnePetri updated?

Updates are likely to be released regularly. The latest version is 1.1.4, last updated on November 7, 2025.

Can I contribute to OnePetri?

Yes, OnePetri is completely open source. The initial training dataset and app source code are publicly available, and contributions can be made by visiting the OnePetri website.
