Uses non-compliant cookie ‘consent’ tool

Use this if you fancy having to scroll through pages of cookie consents to opt out of data harvesting by all and sundry. Or do what I did and just delete the app when this nonsense pops up.

Developer response claims this approach is necessary for legal compliance. That’s simply incorrect. A one button opt out for all optional cookies would be fully in line with UK legal requirements for cookie management and is adopted by many websites and developers. Making users crawl through multiple opt out buttons is unnecessary and obviously designed to make sure users don’t bother.

Not secure!

Uses remote server to process files (where?) and user must send password to open protected files = too risky for me.

Not ready for prime time

Bought the full version ($3… big deal). My experience is that it’s unreliable, had to access iCloud to see my Dropbox files rather than access Dropbox directly, and the paid version will not open password protected documents despite the developers’ claim to the contrary. Uninstalled it.

Delivered the exact functionality I needed …

This app allowed me to open an ODG file I created years ago. After opening the document, I was able to export the file as a PDF and import into Adobe Illustrator!

Perfect for the task

If you receive an email with a .ODT attachement, this app is EXACTLY what you need.
Thank you to the developers. Brilliant work.

The PRO version works good for me

I'm able to read the OpenOffice documents and that exactly what I expected from this app.

Work

How do you even work with this app? I have ODT and I'm trying to open it. It does not pick up automatically the extension

OOReader

This app can also be used to display WordPerfect files in both iOS and Android versions. Nice!

Resurfaced bug

This bug appears to have resurfaced as of 6.1.2 or before (iOS 14.4). There is a faulty filename cache in which the filename is appended with a dash and incremental number despite prior copies of the file being deleted before re-downloading.

Not great

Wont open docs larger than 20-35 mb. I would know for sure but the error notice i receive is not written with good grammar so I’m unsure.

Works again!

Thank you so much for the update! Works great now. I tried WPS (Apple broke it last week) and Word, but neither worked as great as OpenOffice!

Please update soon. No other app seems to want to open ODT files, despite what they may claim. This used to be how I read in bed every night, and I miss it a lot.

And still broken with 13.1.2

I use this app daily, but Apple managed to BREAK EVERYTHING with their 13.1.1 update. Now crashes after scrolling through a couple of pages.

Hs stopped working

I have used this app for years and have found it to be efficient and reliable. However, it has begun to completely shut down when moving about half way through a document. It has never done this before so Pam not certain what is happening. The document I use the most with this app is only 10 pages long, so it’s not too large. Must be a big, but wish it could be solved!!!

Search?

Has no search function! I have my library set up in an Open Office spreadsheet which has just short of 5300 lines. Without a search function it takes forever to find out if I have a particular book or author. I could NOT recommend this to anyone

Works great for me

I can now carry my LibreOffice lists with me for boring errands. Once I paid for it, the ads went away the next time I rebooted the phone.

Internet dependent.

Needs to connect to the internet to convert the file. It will not work without internet access making it useless on the tube.

No local viewing. Requires online file concersion ...

I am not going to upload documents with personally identifiable information, financial data, important correspondence, etc. to an unknown entity to convert my info, so I can view a copy on a mobile device.

One Shortcoming.

I have three iOS devices, and I use all three. OOReader was installed on one of the devices. It worked quit well so I installed it on the other two iOS devices. All three devices are connected too the same network. The problem is that documents added to one of the units is NOT available on either of the other two. All three units are connected to the cloud.

Great for preaching.

I type all my sermons using an Open Office platform on Linux Mint. This app has given me the ability to send the documents to my iPad or iPhone for the sole purpose of reading from it. Once I send it I do not plan on changing it, so the app works great for this.

Yikes !! It uploads the file to the internet

This software (as explained on its webpage), does the conversion by uploading your document to the internet and then scanning and converting it. Your original document is then deleted from its servers.

I have no reason to believe they will use my files in a bad way. BUT, I also have no reason to trust everyone in their organization with my files.

Not affiliated with OO or Libre, buggy, has ads

On my first session I got a bug alert popup written in broken English that my pdf was ... Too big? Dunno. Couldn’t view it.

Forcing users to watch google ads in popup windows is also against everything that FOSS stands for. oof
