They’re right!

Though it’s more various kinds of ‘noise’ (white, pink, etc) than granular. Besides the pads, it took me a moment to figure out vertical dragging to change the other settings not affected by the pads. This app is a lot of sound fun! Too bad it won’t play in the background nor keeps its setting when shut down.
