So much better detail and information. I’ll still use the other apps for Lightning strikes but I’m a total convert. Thank you
Best for forecasting current weather conditions.
I have used this app for 2 years and will continue to use. The app is very useful for forward planning.
This is such an informative website. I enjoy both it’s in depth and the current information. When one wants to know the weather-ANYWHERE- this is the site!
So much more than just snow; lots of choices to view different weather types. Simple, clean graphics. Smart user interface!
Open Snow has become outstanding. I don't even look at anything else anymore. You guys seem to have thought of everything. The information is spot on. I'm still learning all the nuances, but the more I use it the more impressed I become. Thx!
So, so app, of the people, has gone greedy and taken standard features and put under premium subscription. Easy to replace this app with a Codex derived version. Meteorologists are generally inaccurate and very general. They provide no value. Let the replacement work begin. Pure greed drives this. Next it will be sold to a P/E for some insane multiple of recurring revenue. Joel you sold out. Let the games begin.

The detail and depth of this app is unsurpassed. Raw NOAA forecasts may be the only deeper source.

No ads without subscription!
This app used to be amazing and run by humans. Now the forecasts are useless. They change so frequently that planning around them is a waste of effort. The only accuracy comes around temperature. The app itself works great but the data within is junk.
Accurate forecasts for the areas I choose
I am a pro ski patroller in Wyoming. I use Open Snow regularly. Good accurate weather forecasting. Really nice site as it is totally geared towards skiers. I don’t think you can find a better resource for powder and big dumps. Great maps and localized forecasts. Highly recommend!
I love this app
This app is incredible, addicting in the best way. I found myself checking it multiple times a day this winter and it got me to ski more. The reports from top meteorologists are great at laying out what is to come.
OpenSnow forecasters provide such clear, concise and extensive overviews of broader weather patterns (eg El Niño, ridges & troughs across the hemisphere) and how those larger patterns relate to local forecasts. They choose great charts to illustrate and write in a way that makes sense to forecast lay-people.

The forecasts for individual places were spot on, even those in a general geographic area but tweaked for individual locations and topography. My go to every morning.
If you want to know when the snow is going to hit, OpenSnow is the best.
Great details. Esp regional forecasters
Reliable tool for planning backcountry ski outing!
