Offline downloads?

So I travel a lot and didn’t have WiFi in the plane. Before the flight I opened the Opera app and opened to view the most recent issue of Opera magazine. When we took off and lost internet connectivity it appears that the opera app only downloads a few pages. Hence scrolling through the magazine had no content. It would be great if the subscriber could select issues for offline viewing

Problème de langue

Mon anglais étant rudimentaire , je ne peux profiter de votre magazine, rédigé en anglais • pour cette même raison, j’ai renoncé à m’abonner.

Cannot even download

I have been sent a subscription as a birthday present but the app won't open when downloaded and no reply from the support team - so hard to recommend

Beware! This is just magazine rental.

Like a number of magazines available in Newsstand, this is just a rental - you're able to view the magazine for a 30-day period (for $6.99), after which time it gets wiped from your iPad, and you can no longer access it. If you bought a hard copy at a newsagent, you'd be able to keep it forever. Somehow the publishers seem to think that in the digital world people are going to be happy to keep paying to read something they've already paid for. Wake up! We're not that stupid or gullible. Apple should make this fact much clearer in the product description. If this is your business model, and you're proud of it, spell it out. Not only that, this "subscription" set to "auto-renew" - i.e. keep renewing unless your turn off auto-renew in your settings for the mag - a dubious practice from the software industry that borders on deceptive. Moreover, it's not even a creative presentation of the magazine content. It's basically a PDF dump. Save your money.

Excellent alternative to the paper version

If you regularly read this magazine and use this app on the iPad I'd say this is a great alternative. A quid cheaper than the paper version, (when you pay per issue), the pages the same size and all content and pictures in very high definition. Ok the pages take a couple of seconds to download the first time each issue, but then they're crystal clear and fast to turn over. You also get access to several years with of back issues! I'd recommend, personally.

Useless

This lousy app shows a just few slow-loading pages before requiring payment for the issue
A useless and inadequate preview
Publisher should either allow viewing of a full issue before requiring a subscription or dump this app in the trash where it belongs

Really?!

Was very excited to see an app for Operatic info & news, only to find out I was going to have to pay a subscription 'per issue' fee to read it. There are no stars or houses releasing info or interviews that I can not find on another resource for free. Why would I pay you more than I would for a hard copy on Opera Now or Opera News when I am getting lower quality photos and minute print to read? If you want readers, re-think about the target audience and what they would be willing to pay for this.

Beautiful

Beautiful presentation of this premier magazine. For the convenience of having it on the iPhone, the in-app subscription price is probably about right. 4 stars because of the inability to save text.

Ripoff

Two bucks for one week?

It Doesn't Work

The first reviewer was lucky - I couldn't get any pages , blurred or otherwise.
