About

A glass and optics field lab for cataloging material families, checking lens quality, analyzing sample images, logging UV and distortion tests, studying temperature and scratch behavior, using a buyer checklist, taking a myth quiz, saving notes, and asking an on-device assistant about stored material data. Store Description Explore glass, lenses, coatings, and transparent materials through a field lab for collectors, repair work, and material study. Build a reference shelf of families with manufacturing notes, annealing and softening ranges, refractive index, Mohs hardness, failure patterns, uses, UV behavior, and impact-rating flags. Import an image of a sample, mark chips, stress lines, coatings, scratches, or bubbles, then run an on-device reading. The scan compares edge density, brightness variance, color cast, local contrast, saliency, and marked areas to produce a verdict with UV and impact confidence scores. Save each scan with its subject, image, marks, date, and measured lines. Use quality checks when the object is in your hand. A live distortion grid helps reveal warped optics as you tilt the device. A light transmission workflow records a baseline and a with-lens reading, then estimates whether filtration is heavy, moderate, or mostly cosmetic. Test results can be stored, searched, filtered, or removed with undo. The lab adds practical learning. Move a temperature slider from cold shock to molten ranges and see how each family reacts. Simulate scratch depth and density across lens types, rake light across the surface, and read how haze changes visibility. Try the myth quiz, earn a score, and reinforce facts about tempered glass, quartz, sapphire, lead crystal, polarizers, and photochromic lenses. Keep purchase checks organized with an editable checklist for bubbles, polished edges, tint, coating uniformity, micro-scratches, polarizer behavior, and UV readings. Ask the on-device assistant about thermal limits, scratch behavior, UV protection, or entries. Add custom families, notes, checklist items, and logs.
