Sunday edition links broken

For the last several months I’ve noticed the touch links in the Sunday edition are broken and lead to completely different stories and articles. Especially the Opinion and Today’s Economy sections. Whoever they have assigned to the task is failing miserably. The fact it only occurs on the Sunday edition leads me to conclude it’s a part time worker who needs to ask for help. Otherwise, the Monday through Saturday editions are assembled with working links.

Do NOT subscribe to this paper!

I subscribed for the premium tier which is like $4.50 a week after 13 weeks for 99 cents, but I subscribed with my Apple ID using a private relay email. Here’s the problem. The Register has NO RECORD of my account when I share with them the email address I signed in with. And to make matters worse, this company doesn’t even have an “Unsubscribe” option on their app so there is absolutely no way I can unsubscribe from the paper. I am at a loss as to what to do and I will be charged in about 12 weeks. I am racking my brain and even Apple is no help. So, do NOT subscribe to this paper as they make it utterly impossible to unsubscribe and do NOT use private relay emails as they are the worst invention by Apple to date.

New app is confusing

This version of the app repeats stories, skips aromas und and generally makes it hard to tell what part of the paper you are reading. When I go to the article listing, about a quarter of the articles say “title not found”. What a mess!

New app is a joke

Please bring back the old app
Did any of the developers actually try this new garbage on an IPad?
It’s a giant step backwards, almost impossible to read now
Articles are bad enough on the new app, but things like lists or sports standings are now either formatted terribly or not available

Paper content is ok; The app, not so much

Navigation is a problem. After you click a story and read it, the app never takes you back to the full newspaper page you were previously on. Instead, the app takes the reader to a spot multiple pages away (sometimes 10 or more). Navigating back to where you were is a pain in the neck. Ugh!

User

This new app is not user friendly. Takes longer to get in to the news. Can’t print any articles. Was very simple to do with old app. Newer isn’t always better.

Basically went backwards

Not able to find and or pint the Sports TV listings. usually located either on the second or third page of the sports pages thanks register Appreciate it

New App is Terrible

It’s impossible to navigate. The back arrow takes you back to what I can only describe as the back door; or, the very last page, which is white and has no navigation icons, I only know it’s the last page because I swipe in frustration and have to continue swiping left to right to find my way back to the page I was just reading! The page views at the bottom switch to article views without any input from me, and the article thumbnails don’t let me display them to read. Don’t know who did your user acceptance testing for this newly designed app, but they should be fired!

Not an improvement

Works fine on my phone. Awkward and difficult to use on iPad. I miss the old version.

Frustrated

This new app is frustrating, can’t share articles, what works one day doesn’t another making it difficult to look through the paper. This new e-edition needs help.

Terrible upgrade

Ever since the new version of the App was released about two weeks ago the newspaper is almost unreadable on my iPad. I called to complain but I have a feeling that complaint is going nowhere. Why don’t they just go back to the previous version of the App which worked great.? They should look at the LA Times app. It works really well on my iPad. I’m giving them two more weeks then I’m canceling my digital subscription.

Canceled subscription

I literally cannot read articles. I click on an article and it shows the headline, a few sentences and I cannot scroll to read the article. I canceled my subscription and hope everyone does the same. Whoever worked on and sponsored the “updated” app should be fired.

OC reg

This app needs work. Doesn’t download all the time. Some articles don’t load in reader format. The old app was just fine I don’t see any improvement.

Horrible app

Can’t easily access pages. The digital app that comes with the daily paper is far superior but defeats the purpose of having just a digital paper.

Can’t read articles.

When you open a section and tap on an article, all you get is half the article. You can’t enlarge it to read and finding the rest of the article is a pain because you have to scroll the rest of the section to find what page it’s on. The older version was much better to read.

OC Register new app is AWFUL

The old app was working well. Recently it was updated and now it is a disaster. Navigation is impossible. When I read an article and try to go back to the full page, it goes to a random page, sometimes up to 10 pages away from the one I was reading. I cannot get to a later section in the paper without scrolling through all the pages before it. Also, there is an advertisement at the bottom(in addition to the ones in the paper itself). When I try to close it, the paper goes back to page 1. Extremely frustrating! Wish I could have given 0 stars.

Terrible update

This new update has made reading the paper and being able to save and open articles and crosswords in notability obsolete. I loved being able to open all the games and puzzles in noteability on an iPad so that I could use the pencils to complete the games. I will be canceling my subscription.

New App is terrible

Does anybody test these updates before they release them?
Does not allow any printing even though there’s a print icon.
Looks like it’s time to cancel my subscription.

New version - stinks

Been using the app for years and was very happy. I think it was written by Technavia because it looked and behaved just like the app I use to read WSJ.
New app version installed today.

In a word, this garbage.

Navigating is difficult, nowhere near as easy as previous version.
Box scores for baseball are unreadable when opened.
Ability to print or articles is gone, as is ability to save articles to pdf. The old app basically gave me all the Chrome capabilities
Previous editions automatically removed from cache

Needs more diversity

The register is a good newspaper, but it needs more conservative viewpoints. Orange County is more conservative than you think.
