About

Read websites in Safari in the language you're learning, with word and phrase translations beside the original text. For iPhone, iPad and Mac. Choose how you read: • Hints: short translations appear in small text after words and phrases. The original stays the main text. • On tap: the page stays untouched. Tap a word to see its translation, its sentence translated with matching words highlighted, and its pronunciation. Swedish words also show a dictionary entry from Lexin when you read in English or Russian. • Side by side: the translation of each paragraph appears under the original. • Reader view: just the article, without menus and ads, with Ord's translations. Tap a word in a link or button to translate it; open the link from the card. Keep Ord on for the sites you read every day and it starts by itself. Learn the words you meet: • Save a word from the translation card in Safari. Ord files it in its dictionary form (en bil, att tycka) and keeps the sentence and the page you found it on. • Discover the 1,000 most common words of Swedish, English, German, Spanish, French and Italian, one card at a time: tap Learn or I know it. Phrase, travel and news decks too. • A few minutes of practice a day with spaced repetition brings each word back just before you'd forget it. • A reminder only on days with words to review, and a Word of the Day widget. When you're online, Ord translates with Google Translate for the best quality. Offline, or with Online translation turned off, translation runs on your device with Apple Translation, and Swedish to English or Russian and English to Russian also work fully offline with models built into Ord. Other languages supported by Apple Translation may need a one-time language download, which Ord offers. No account, no ads, no tracking. With Online translation on, only the text being translated is sent, straight from your device to Google Translate; turn it off to keep everything on your device. Turn on Ord in Safari's Extensions settings, then start it from the Safari toolbar or page menu. Change languages and reading style in Ord's floating bar or in the app. Translations can be wrong. Check the original for important details.

What's New in Ord

2.0.1

October 22, 2026

• Better translations: Ord now translates with Google Translate when you're online, and switches to on-device translation when you're offline. You can turn this off in Languages → Online translation. • Dictionary in the word card: when reading Swedish in English or Russian, tap a word to see its base form, part of speech, meanings and an example from the Lexin dictionary. Words the translation skips, like "skulle", now get their dictionary meaning. • Reader view: show just the article, with Ord's translations, from the Ord panel. Ord remembers it per site. • Keep Ord on for a site now really starts Ord automatically when you open that site again. • Links and buttons: tapping a word in a link translates it; use Open link in the card to follow it. • A new app icon in Ord's picture-book style. • Practice: the Forgot / Hard / Good / Easy buttons now fit on one line on large iPhones and with bigger text. • Small fixes and polish.
