Great app for unforgettable ski trips
Amazing app! We used Outmap during our snowboarding trip in Japan, and it was genuinely helpful. The heatmaps were especially useful when visibility was almost zero at the top of the mountain and we needed to quickly understand which direction to go.
The 3D maps are also excellent — the terrain detail and overall map quality are really impressive.
I also really liked the ability to save maps in advance. It was super convenient: I could review the resort map on the plane, quickly refresh my memory on the lift, and when we were in areas with no signal, the offline map helped us get oriented faster and find our way back to the runs.
It’s almost a shame that I don’t go snowboarding more often, because the app is genuinely interesting and makes me want to use it more and more.

Exceptional mapping tool
I work as a IFMGA mountain guide throughout the globe and have found the mapping and intuitiveness to be remarkable. This has been my favorite mapping tool in quite some time.
Way better
I tried it when FATMAP was killed, and it was nowhere near as good as it is now.
Amazing App
I’ve used Gaia and others - nothing beats OUTMAP for 3D rendering on a phone with the overlays you need for ski touring and backcountry adventures - super easy to plot routes.

Surpassing Fatmap by a mile
Initially brought as a FatMap alternative; it now surpasses it by a mile. These guys develop incredible tool for trip planning, orientation and terrain evaluation. They integrated detailed weather forcasting, avanlanche conditions, sun/shade exposure… UX is great.

Best thing happened after fatmap
Best fatmap competitor, period. I wasted my money with whympr premium, Iphigénie, relief, but nothing compares to Outmap UI. Visibility is perfect, tracing ski touring routes is as easy as swisstopo. The ONLY thing missing is the accurate winter satellite layout. We miss that so much, but except that, my mountain adventures are great again. Please keep your economic model so you don’t end like Fatmap. Totally worth the subscription imo.

Great startup app but still missing some features you can find on other bigger name apps.
Yet another overpriced subscription
Had potential in replacing Fatmap after the Strava purchase destroyed that. Sad to see this becoming another overpiced subscription.

Good app, still some bugs
Regularly using it as replacement of fatmaps. I like the satellite image quality and the rendering of layers while zooming. What i do not like is that many paths are not shown or not visible unless you zoom in very deep.
Best outdoor map for skiing and hiking
Love this map. Simple to use, great visuals, can see all the details. Super useful winter layer!

Better than Fatmaps
Fatmaps had become essential for my backcountry travel and I’m so happy I found Outmap as a replacement. Better features and offline maps take up way less storage. Only negative is image resolution could be a bit better.
