Broken — Me & the app
Wth? I am a premium subscriber, but likely not for very much longer. What is going on? All of a sudden I can’t even scroll through a list of my podcasts or a list of episodes. I LOVED Overcast Premium. No more.😥 I would much rather these issues would be fixed than have to look for a different podcast app.

Simple and great
Simple, great features, and pleasant to use. I love Overcast.
Pretty useful on iPhone, not launching on Mac
UPDATE: At one time, the MacOS app launched and worked ok. Now, with latest releases, it never launches. The window opens, the spinner spins, but the app never completes launch. (Using macOS Tahoe on M2)

I use this app daily on my phone. It’s always worked fine—there are quirks that annoy, but it gets the job done.
Quirks include:
• stopping play, removing AirPods and putting those away in case, podcast auto starts playing again, only over the phone speakers.
• some pinned podcasts sometimes display at the top of the podcast list, and sometimes disappear—no idea why

Feature rich, solid app from a committed developer
I’ve used this app for years, and I can’t believe the ways in which the developer continues to improve and strengthen it. The voice boost feature is better than anything I’ve used elsewhere, and the small thoughtful adjustments he seems to be consistently working on tell me how committed he is to creating and maintaining a great user experience.

Great until recently
I loved everything about this app until recently. It freezes, won’t play, cuts off, my phone is HOT and the battery just drains. I’m sadly gonna have to find a new app.
Updates still not working
Glad the streaming is back but continuous play still not working. Really wish it would go back to original design. Will have to look at other apps…too bad

I consume many podcasts and this is the best way to do it. So glad it will skip the trash people and services inject into feeds.

This used to be one of the best podcast apps. I have used this for over 4 years.

Don't waste your money
I'm a premium user and have been happy with this app, but it has recently become unusable.
It freezes, moves jerkily, and routinely crashes.
I've tried fixes suggested by a couple of AIs, deleted episodes, and emailed the developer, with no luck.
Don't waste time and/or money on this poorly designed piece of junk.

Please fix after latest update!
Have you used Overcast for years without issues but recently it is dropping mid podcast every time and my phone is running exceptionally hot because of it also. Please fix! I don’t really want to find another podcast platform but may have to if this continues
Locks up on bad Wi-Fi
A Smart Playlist will just freeze, instead of going around, if it goes out to look and sees there’s new episodes that it could download. Especially annoying on planes. Emailed dev a few times about this bug in prior versions with no acknowledgment.
Just updated and won’t play anything
I love this app. I have been using it for probably over ten years. With the new update, I can’t play anything. When I try, it either freezes or crashes. Even with an already downloaded episode that I was listening to before the update.
Will happily change my review to 5 stars if the app starts working again.

Unusable
Used to be my favorite podcast app. After the last update it is now unusable. Opens, then just freezes.
Best podcast app ever!
I am getting ready to uninstall this app and have just given it a downgrade and it’s rating. The reason is because there has been a problem with the app since mid 2025. I and others have not notified the developer but have not received a response nor fix.
the problem is that the download gets stuck in a waiting mode and never recovers. I have precisely identified my problem and that I have downloads and Wi-Fi only mode. If the app attempts to download while I am not on Wi-Fi, the download fails. After that once reconnected to Wi-Fi, that episode will never download stuck in “waiting to download.”
The only thing that fixes it is to uninstall the app and then reinstall it. I don’t want to have to do that every other day and it clogs up my listening queue.

Great until the last week
The app has been great, until last week. It’s so laggy to the point I can barely use it. I’ve deleted/redownloaded the app with no improvements. I’d love to continue using it if whatever’s going on can be resolved.
App crashes
App crashes all the time now, either won’t open at all but when it opens it will stop working if I try to delete or add a podcast. No support on website

Weirdly unusable
I thought this was supposed to be better than the awful Apple Podcasts app. So I downloaded and CANT EVEN ADD A SINGLE PODCAST. All I can see is a screen asking me to create playlists. I’d like to have some podcasts to even add to a playlist.
