Cool Desktop/Mobile App

It’s fun to leave running on your desktop to see whats flying over your head while you work!

Needs work

Tried the free version. Looks interesting, but in checking it against similar apps, the info shown was about 20 minutes old. It only shows airport codes (I guess you have to pay to see the names). I checked out the 4 flights displayed and recognised only two of the 8 codes. One flight had wrong codes - showed it as going from a non-existent airport to Cincinnati when it was actually going from Madrid to Chicago. Maybe the paid version is better. The free app only shows flights that are deemed close enough for you to see.

Response from developer

Thanks for the specifics. A few things worth clearing up. Aircraft positions are live. The app refreshes every few seconds and discards anything older than a minute. If a plane looked 20 minutes behind another app, email support@dgrlabs.co with the flight and time and we will trace it. In the current version, airport names appear under the codes, free or Pro, so please upgrade to the current version and check it out. The current version also sanity checks route information, so if for instance our route data provider reports a flight as departing Cincinnati but its position data shows it between Madrid and Chicago, Overflight will no longer show any route. We would rather show no route than a wrong one. And yes, showing only the planes you could actually see is in fact the whole idea. I you want to see aircraft outside your visible sky, that's a different app. I hope you'll install the current version and, if it addresses some or all of your concerns, update your review! Thanks, Charlie
