Great support!

I’m so thankful to have this option. The PairTree team offers incredible education, resources and emotional support.

Wonderful New Find

Happy to have found a new approach to navigate this wild world of adoption. The PairTree team have been so helpful. The ability to upload easily and answer these prompts to create a profile have made an intimidating experience more helpful.

Finally, a modern approach!

We kept getting frustrated with all the old school dealings of various agencies - they are all stuck in the 70s! Pairtree has digitized this whole process and streamlined the home study aspect. Gone are the days of faxing documents (for real!) Excited to see how things progress with this awesome new modern service.

Helpful & Supportive

As a birth mom in an open adoption, I love that PairTree offers the ability to connect directly with adoptive families without having to go through an agency that profits off of placements. The app itself is so user friendly and allows you to learn about adoption and view family profiles without having to go into someone’s office. I wish PairTree would have been around when I made an adoption plan.

Wonderful Experience

My wife and i are trying to adopt. We were required to take a home study and Pairtree was referred to us by our dear friends. We were treated with such compassion and kindness, in what can be viewed as one of the most stressful experiences one can have.

Thank you,
Adam S.

Finally a different approach

These people are on to something. The app keeps getting better. Seems to be improving with time. Easy to build a profile, find information, connect with the company when I have had questions, a few hiccups but it works. Great way to find ethical professionals all over. For all the other reviewers- my sincere support and best wishes for you to find resources. Unresolved trauma is real. Grief & loss are part of this journey. I’m just grateful someone’s trying to make it better. 🙏

An amazing platform

I used PairTree as an add-on during my adoption search while also working with an agency. While I ultimately was placed with a child through my agency, if I went through the process again, I would assemble my own team with PairTree as my home base.

Genius Idea/User friendly App

This App has SO much great content in the learning section. I’m so grateful to have found it. Finally a new way to navigate this extremely overwhelming world of adoption. Thank you Pairtree for providing everything needed in one space. The company is so helpful if you reach out and connect with them for assistance.

So Helpful

PairTree provided so many options in my search to offer more choice to my clients(EM) looking for a very specific quality for her baby. Thank you for building a friendly filter feature to help me access what we were looking for….so helpful! Working in the field this app is a useful tool. Highly recommend for adoption professionals.

This is glorifying human trafficking. Absolutely disgusting.

Words don’t even touch how disgusting this platform is. Infant adoption should absolutely last resort, this is predatory on mothers and shatters families forever. Adoption is trauma on the child and birth family, and cannot be undone. Infertile couples will do and say anything pretty to get their grubby paws on a womb wet infant. Infants cannot fix your crumbling marriage. Infants are not items to be purchased to fulfill an emotional void in adults. They can make themselves out to be picture perfect and STILL be completely abusive when they finally get a child. The child may even be a daily reminder of their unprocessed infertility issues, and obvious resentment may be always present. Bottom line, no $$$$ is made keeping families together. Follow the money and who is benefiting. Not the child or birth parents for sure. Signed, just another angry adoptee.

Beware of this app!

This is not “modern adoption.” This is the same thing as it’s always been, wrapped up in a cute app. Don’t fall for it. If you’re a mom who needs help, there are resources to keep your family together & for you to raise your little one. Your baby needs you, not fancy stuff, and not strangers. Don’t become a “Birthmother.” It is lifelong grief & loss that affects not only you & your baby but all future generations. Please also beware of “Open adoption.” It means nothing. Once the adoption is final, in every state, your child’s birth certificate will be falsified & you are erased as their mother. “Open adoption” are just some promises that the adoptive parents make to convince you to give your baby away. None of these promises are enforceable & this business can do nothing to help you see your baby. Don’t let this app or any other adoption business fool you. Keep your family together.

Adult adoptee and I’m disgusted

“Hey mom, what’s my story?” “Oh honey, I found you on an app!”

Please do not use this app if you are pregnant!

Pairtree, Inc. is a for-profit company who raised $7.5 million to create an app that finds babies for affluent (or financed) people. How many vulnerable and low income parents could have been supported to keep their children with $7.5 million??? But instead PairTree used this venture capital money to create a platform to make it easier for affluent people to take legal custody of the children of vulnerable and low income people.

Make no mistake, their customers are people who want to adopt. They will show you pictures of (mostly) white affluent people who want a baby and then use coercive techniques such as telling you how selfless and courageous you are for choosing adoption.

Most people who relinquish their children to adoption do so because they do not have enough financial resources and social support. And most live with a lifetime of grief, loss, and trauma after losing their children, even if they think it was the right/only thing to do at the time.

Open adoption agreements are not legally enforceable in the majority of states, which means the adoptive parents can change the terms or shut it down without consulting you and you will have no legal resource. Adoption does not and cannot promise a better life, it can only promise a different life.

Placing a child for adoption will change your and the child’s life forever, no matter the outcome. Know your rights and do not let anyone convince you it is anything less than a completely life altering decision. If you feel you have no other choice or that your child will be better off, please consider kinship placement or a legal guardianship.

People for a profit

An app to prey on women in crisis and sell their baby to a family with more financial means?Instead of helping them keep their family together? This app feeds the pro life capitalist agenda. It’ll breed trauma and the only person who will benefit 100% of the time is the adoptive parents . You’re selling people for a profit. Reminds me of a dark time in history.

Ridiculous

I work in the international adoption world and it’s stuff like this that makes my job necessary. There are dozens of ways to adopt a child- please don’t choose them off a phone app. Not even animals get chosen this way. You are committing to a whole child, if you can’t take some time to get some education and out in some real effort you don’t deserve to parent. I can’t imagine how many of these sweet children are going to end up on Second Chance Adoptions because their parents wanted a perfect, innocent child, and were given no education about trauma, the adoption triangle, or dozens of other topics necessary to being a successful adoptive parent. For their sake, do better.

I’m an adoptee and this app is a nightmare

Just another new cog in the for-profit trauma machine. We want to stay with our actual families. Babies are not blank slates. We suffer the trauma of being taken from our mothers and it lasts a lifetime. Our brains develop differently because of it. And just because a couple looks good on paper, it doesn’t mean they will be good parents. Too many adoptive parents start out really well and they grow to dislike their adoptees because we have different (genetic) personalities and don’t turn out to be who they imagined. (Plus the trauma-response behavioral issues. We have a lot of behavioral issues overall) If you are considering placing your baby for adoption, please reconsider. There are resources to help you. Thank you.

Not approved by ADOPTEES; we should take note.

Unethical. Dangerous for children. Home studies should be done in person- not online. Labeling is harmful for their future development; especially if temperament changes later on. This app fosters future resentment and disappointment for the families.

Predatory

This app is using predatory techniques to convince mothers they aren’t good enough to parent their own children.

Moms, you can do it! The one best resource you can give your baby is their own biological mother. There are resources available to get you past this very short period where you feel in crisis. This will pass! Your baby doesn’t want to be raised by strangers: as an adopted person, I can tell you that from experience.

Stop trafficking children!

If you cared so much about the welfare of a child, you would keep families together. Just because you can’t have a baby doesn’t mean that you can purchase someone else’s child. Sponsor a child and mother instead. Unethical app and practice.

You can pick and choose

This app can pair you with the dream family for your child! If you’re a mom - who doesn’t have access to a desktop computer but have your phone simply use it! You can decide if you want your child to go live with Steve & Karen the wonderful Christian family instead of those Athiests or worst off wiccans Bella and Shay who are currently living not only out of wedlock but are GAY! Choose everything for your child!
