New in 2.2.0 — the biggest update since launch. FILTERS NOW SEARCH EVERYTHING • Fixed: filters only applied to the documents currently loaded. Tapping a tag in a 3,000-document archive searched 25 of them — the list showed a random subset and called it complete. The server now does the filtering, the count is right, and you can page through within a filter. • Select several tags, correspondents or types at once — and exclude tags ("everything except junk mail"). • Search results show the passage containing your term instead of just the title and date. WORK THROUGH THE INBOX • Swipe right to take a document out of the inbox; in selection mode you can do many at once. Before, you had to open each document and untick the tag by hand. • "Swipe through" — a full-screen inbox view: preview on top, correspondent, type and tags below, pre-filled with your server's suggestions. • The app now uses the suggestions from paperless-ngx. They work on every iPhone, with or without Apple Intelligence. • After an upload you see what the server made of it — processed, or rejected as a duplicate. NOTHING GETS LOST ANY MORE • Fixed: queued uploads and edits could disappear on launch — exactly when you need them: with no connection. • Fixed: one rejected request blocked the queue for good, and the app reported "Offline" while the server was reachable. • Fixed: switching accounts could send files and edits to the wrong server. • Fixed: every edit overwrote the state on the server. Now only what you actually changed goes out. • "Timed out" and "Offline" no longer stick around after the app has been in the background. SECURITY • Fixed: "Set permissions" could make documents visible to every user on the instance. • New connections use https by default. Unencrypted only via an explicit switch, with a warning. • Server access with a client certificate (mTLS) and custom HTTP headers — before signing in. The app now works behind Cloudflare Access, Authelia or a proxy. • Proxy secrets now live in the keychain and are removed when you sign out. • Deleting tags, correspondents and types asks first — it affects the whole server and there is no trash for it. WHAT'S COMING UP • Deadline radar spots payment terms, cancellation windows and warranty periods in the text and proposes them together with the passage it found. Only what you confirm is saved. Plus reminders with lead time and a "what's due" list. • "Recurring" shows documents that come back and tells you when a month is missing. • Duplicate check before uploading — by reference number, amount and date. MORE FROM YOUR ARCHIVE • "Ask your archive" now searches the whole archive instead of just the loaded page. • Similar documents in the info tab, determined by the server. • Statistics: documents per month, most frequent correspondents, storage used. • Swipe to the next document in the detail view. CAPTURE • Scan an ASN barcode — point the camera at the label and the document opens. • Rotate, delete and reorder pages before uploading. • Import rules: whatever arrives from your banking app automatically becomes "Bank statement". • Scans are considerably smaller now — faster uploads, less storage. SYSTEM • Lock screen widget, Control Center buttons for scanning and the inbox. • Shortcuts that return something: "Find documents", "Count inbox", "Upload document". • Set owner, permissions and storage paths — for everyone sharing an instance. • The app now runs on iOS 18 instead of requiring iOS 26. The AI features still need a device with Apple Intelligence.
