If you want to upgrade to “Gold” status, you choose between monthly, yearly, or one off. Monthly is $3.99 however, if you choose the monthly option and click to purchase the subscription, it changes to weekly. If one were to proceed quickly, one would not even notice until their next credit card bill. Very sneaky and unethical. Web developer’s response was the monthly rate is based on your location? The app does not specify.

I want an app to tell me where I am and how to find a subway or bus to my destination.
Must Have
Downloaded and used this 10 years ago. It was excellent! We used for a week and it never steered us wrong. Had native French speakers peering over my shoulder for advice and then downloading it themselves. Recommended to a friend who is there now - her third or fourth trip - who’d never heard of it, and have already heard from her thanking me for the rec. Don’t leave home without it!

This is one of the most frustrating apps to use for anyone trying to navigate around Paris. While the core functionality is useful, it’s such a pain to use because of the constant ads for awful games and gambling sites. If you want to just quickly look at the metro map you have to sit through multiple adds before you can get any useful info.
Of course they’re trying to get you to pay for the “premium” version of the app. But considering the information they provide is publicly available from the Paris Metro website that feels ridiculous.

if you don’t upgrade, the ads are obnoxious. they are frequent. they occlude the screen many times occluding the whole screen. they are hard to close, sometimes taking multiple attempts.

Ruined by continual advertising pop ups that are impossible to cancel - at times when you actually need critical info about routes. The Paris Metro is what Uber was invented for, stress free, almost immediate, and quite inexpensive.
