Better than any other app I’ve used

It really helped me lock in with Spanish so I can communicate with my friends easier

App SUCKS

I was excited to try this app out knowing I’d learn Spanish better but I can’t use it unless I pay that’s so dumb I have to pay to help learn a language I don’t know?? Whatever lll be on Duolingo

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This actually helps pretty well

I hope I do good at Spanish

Its really good

Free version is better than paid?

It was an amazing app until
I payed lol, or moved further in progress... Lessons became shorter, don’t have time to memorize things. Pronunciation on click or after tasks (how it used to be on first lessons) disappeared. Same with phrases/words explanations after you choose the correct answer. There is no system that helps you with word learning, it just shows you words in order you saved them until you click that you remember it, they assume you will learn it during lessons, but they don’t repeat at all (except of basic ones). I don’t see a huge difference from Duolingo’s free version with using TikTok/youtube and they claimed it’s way better.. $100 for nothing.

Just started another lesson after writing this review and the video didn’t have doubt at all..

Not Real Clear How to Progress

Doulingo has its drawbacks, but in general you know when you should move forward or how to move forward. With Parrot I often found I did not know what I was suppose to be doing or working on, or why the next lesson was open, or when the previous lesson was done. Maybe there are no actually lessons. Some sort of instructions would have been helpful. The developer was very responsive and did give me some pointers - but I shouldn’t need to contact the developer. A simple link to a YouTube video on how to use the product as intended would have helped a great deal. Neither was I able to figure out how to use flash cards, or how to control what is included in a flash card deck. I wanted to practice some words with flash cards, but could not figure out how to control the content. Also, when playing a video you can click on a word to see its definition which is nice, but I did not understand the color coding or how to change the color coding - like if I accidentally clicked to indicate I knew a word, how do you undo that. I ended up feeling confused and pretty dumb - I’m just trying to learn Spanish, and I’m getting stuck on just trying to figure out how to use the app. Probably great for young folk in their 20s.

Great

This needs fixed

I enrolled in the 7-day free trial and cancelled my subscription before the renewal date. However, the app is still attempting to charge me approximately $50 for the subscription, which I do not want.

Deceptive

This app said you’d get a notification before being charged but it wasn’t sent and I was charged!

Lessons don’t update

I’ve been using parrot to refresh my Spanish, as I’m already conversational. However, as I complete lessons, it sometimes doesn’t actually update and let me move on. It makes me complete one full lesson chapter 2-3 times before it actually says complete and lets me move on to the next.

Not really free paywall hits right after set up.

This isn't free. You have to pay before you can actually do anything. You go through the first part of the setup process, and once it shows you're all set up, you're blocked — you either have to pay or start a "free trial." It's misleading if you're expecting genuinely free functionality.

Needs money. Not 5 stars

I cant get into the app without having to pay money. I cant even pass the first page. I would love this app if it was free for at least like a lesson or 2 but i cant even use it.

Bait And Switch

This app give the false impression it’s free. Next it forces users through a bogus “training plan”, attempting to set up scheduled notifications. Then it tries to force users to give a positive rating before even using once. Only after app that will it tell the user they need to sign up for a paid plan, but it says they don’t have to pay for it “now”. In reality it signs all members up for a minimum $90 annual subscription. The app is falsely described as “in-app purchases” but the app cannot be used without signing up for a paid plan; that’s a paid app. These are all malicious dark patterns used to manipulate users into decisions that they wouldn’t otherwise make.

Response from developer

thanks for taking the time to write such detailed feedback. we're sorry the experience came across this way. we'll keep working on making our onboarding and pricing much clearer so people know exactly what to expect before starting a trial. if you're open to sharing more, we'd love to hear your perspective at founders@parrotapp.com. we read every single email. — amir, erik & julia at parrot

Omg

Idk I’m just new here

Exceptionally good

🤤🤤

Pay before trying

I really think it’s crazy there isn’t a free version within this app and that you have to try the free trial to even get access to anything within the app otherwise it’ll just keep taking you back to the plan being completed. Over all I’ll just stick to Duolingo, because even though it did take a lot longer to get to where you want to be, at least the basic lessons are free

Asking for a review before I have a chance to use the app is crazy to me

Annoyed

I was so excited to use this app, but it won’t let you continue or even create an account until after you give them a review. Annoyeddddddddd

Paid subscription

Would’ve been nice to know it was a paid subscription, don’t get

Money

Parrot gave me zero notifications when my free trial was over and i got charged $90 this is insane.
