Lots of potential
I rated this app three stars because it clearly targets the US market. Most of the world uses the metric system, while only the US continues to use the Imperial system. When setting up an account, users should be given the option to choose their preferred measurement system. For now, I will set this app aside and revisit it later to update my review when it becomes more suitable for the majority of non-US users.

I downloaded this app to save money and learn how to cook, I saw a post on Reddit and downloaded ASAP. And yes it’s free, so far as of 2025 there is no paid subscription. I’m gonna recommend to all my friends, just so you know I just downloaded it so keep that in mind but I’m so excited!!!

When I first started using it, it seemed great but I have started noticing a ton of questions that are either written by AI or someone with very little actual cooking knowledge. I have encountered multiple lessons that contain outright falsehoods, or confusing wording. Amateur cooks beware!

Great way to learn
This app is so fun because you play a game to get better knowledge of the said ingredients of your desired recipe. And, it’s mostly free!! Great for beginner and intermediate cooking.

I’ve been cooking for a couple of decades. I know my way around the kitchen. I thought I’d see how much knowledge I had. I am learning a lot from this app. Its fun to learn about the components of different recipes. This app is good for both beginners and experienced cooks.

Great for those who were never taught how to cook!
I absolutely love to bake and hate cooking, so I gave this app a try to help teach myself. I love that this starts from the basics, goes into details on how to cook that would have never thought of, and quizzes you throughout the way. It also tells you the “why” behind certain decisions, versus just doing something because you were once told to do it but didn’t know why. Reminds me of the fun science behind baking, so I’m hoping this motivates me to start cooking for fun.
