Passavo

Passavo is the app at the door. Scan tickets with your phone’s camera, or sell them on the spot from a tablet. One job at a time, large and legible — even on a cheap device, even without a network. SCANNING • Full-screen camera and one answer per ticket: green VALID, amber CHECK (already scanned at …), red NOT VALID. • Colour is never the only signal. Every answer also carries a symbol and a word — which is what you need at a dark entrance or in bright sunlight. • Vibration and a tone as well, because at a busy door nobody is looking at the screen. • A QR code that won’t read? Search for the visitor by name, product or code and check them in by hand. • The counter shows all day how many people are in, out of how many expected. WORKS WITHOUT A NETWORK • The day’s manifest sits on the device. Scanning itself is entirely local, so a cellar or a field with no coverage is not a problem. • Every scan goes into a queue on the device first and leaves as soon as the connection is back. • A ticket this device has already checked off says “already used” straight away — offline too. • If the server later comes back with a different answer, the server wins and the app corrects itself. DESK TILL • Sell at the desk on an iPad or tablet, with the same prices and the same stock as online. • Cash, card or QR. With a payment terminal if you have one, and just as well without. • A receipt straight away, on paper or by email. • Every movement goes into a till journal that cannot be changed afterwards. • The till itself needs a connection. Scanning works without one. ALSO • Time slots: by the hour or by part of the day, with a capacity per slot. • Season passes: validity period and visits per day, without a connection too. • Wallet passes scan like any other ticket, Apple Wallet included. • Tickets from resellers such as Tiqets and GetYourGuide, with the reseller’s name shown at the door. • Seven languages: Dutch, French, English, German, Italian, Bulgarian and Spanish. The app follows the language of the device. WHO IT’S FOR Museums and castles, but just as much a club concert, a workshop, a sports day, a trade fair or a boat trip. Anywhere someone stands at a door and has to know whether this visitor may come in. SIGNING IN Passavo goes with a Passavo account. You sign in with your venue’s organisation code and your own email address. Accounts are created by the administrator in the management area; the app itself creates no accounts and sells nothing to the visitor.
