About
You are on the sofa, the computer is across the room, and the video needs pausing or the next slide needs to come up. Pick up the phone in your hand and run the computer from there: move the pointer, click, type, change the volume, even see the screen.
What you need
• The PC Remote program running on your own computer, from tanzsoft.com/pcremote
• Your iPhone or iPad and the computer on the same local network
It does not work over the internet. Works with Windows PCs and Macs.
A trackpad you can see
The whole pad is a field of small key holes that light up under your finger. A trail follows the pointer, a whole row lights up when you scroll, and a ring appears for a click. A label on the pad names the gesture in words, so you learn as you use it.
• Drag to move, tap to click
• Two-finger tap for right click, three-finger tap for middle click
• Two fingers to scroll
• Tap then drag, or rest then drag, to hold the button down and move things or select text
• Left, middle and right buttons on screen
• Adjustable pointer speed and natural scrolling
Keyboard
Type in any language your phone supports and the text appears on the computer as you type.
• Esc, Tab, Enter, arrows, Home, End, Page Up, Page Down, Insert, Delete, F1 to F12
• Ctrl, Alt, Shift and Start stay held for the next key
• Shortcuts for copy, paste, undo, select all, switch app, close and screenshot
Media
Play or pause, previous, next, mute. Slide a finger along a row of keys to change the computer's volume.
Slides
A very large Next key that you can find without looking, plus Previous, Start, Full screen and End show. A running timer helps you keep to your time.
Screen view
See the computer's screen on your phone and tap directly on it. Hold to right-click, drag, pinch to zoom, and use two fingers to scroll. It works on the same network only, and the computer shows a notice while it is being viewed.
Power
Lock, sleep, sign out, restart and shut down. Everything except lock asks you to confirm first. The computer's owner can turn this off in the program.
Connecting
• Finds your computer on the Wi-Fi by itself
• Pair one time with a 6-digit code or an Allow button on the computer
• Remembers your computers and can connect automatically
• Options to keep the computer awake and to keep this screen on
Try it first
A built-in demo with a pretend computer lets you try every part of the app before you set anything up.
Private by design
No ads, no account, nothing collected. The app talks directly to your computer on your own network, with no servers in between. The connection is local and is not encrypted, so use it on a network you trust, not on public Wi-Fi.
Also
Available in 31 languages, with dark mode, and it supports iPad.
Windows is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation. This app is not affiliated with Microsoft.
