Breaks in the Reading
BUT…(and this is a big BUT…)
Unlike most human narrators, there is no voice change between characters. I can deal with that; after all, the voice is my head remains pretty consist, too.
BUT MUCH WORSE…
What is most irritating are the lags in the narrative. Be prepared for short lags and often missed words at each “Part.” (The app divides the book into “parts” and chapters. I’m guessing the “parts” could be pages.) BUT, worst of all….be prepared for total stops in the narrative. Sometimes fast forwarding will get the narrative started again; other times it is like it goes into sleep mode and only magic works. I’ve tried multiple strategies when this happens. The normal things to get it going again: restart the app, restart the phone, rewind the place in the book, delete the book and reload it, and remove the app and download it again. Eventually, I give up; or it starts again after I tried the magic button/formula; or I pull the car over, read to the end of the “part” or chapter, and get the narrative going again; or I give up and go to a different book.
Think carefully before you spend $100 per 1 year subscription.
