Wish it were better but man it’s awful. Very little content. The app doesn’t correctly orient and gets stuck upside down.
Great, with some flaws
Works great if you want a dedicated app for browsing PeerTube, but I couldn't find a way to disable the touch controls for brightness and volume when in fullscreen, so I end up accidentally changing the volume and brightness when adjusting my hand or wiping off dust. The video player also has some delay to it, and it feels kind of "heavy" to control because of it. There also doesn't seem to be a way to watch videos in picture-in-picture mode, but there's at least background audio.
Overall, needs some work, but is serviceable enough for its purpose.

Looks great on an iPad now!
Kudos to the programmers for the new tablet layout and for getting full screen to work even on an iPad (something Instagram haven't yet managed despite their billions ) ... and even, it seems on a first glance, reinstated HDR (Rec.2020) video support for PeerTube which is fabulous!
Avoid.
almost immediately after downloading the app, someone deducted money from my bank card. I did not authorize this deduction nor did I link my account to anybody else… I don’t think I’m gonna continue with PeerTube if this is the kind of fraud that exists here. apparently not everybody in the fediverse is good. Beware gentlemen.

Great Promise
Here lies hope that YouTube won't always have the playground all to itself.
Wish it would let audio continue if I close my phone, though. There are many videos I'd like to keep listening to, even if I can't look at the screen.

Confusing like the broader PeerTube ecosystem
I downloaded the app so I could try to follow some PeerTube channels as following them from Mastodon seems to be completely broken. Nope, it looks like I can’t do that with a “local” PeerTube account.
OK, so I guess I need to create an account with an instance. Good luck trying to find one as a viewer/consumer. The entire ecosystem is designed for content creators. They’re important, but a bit pointless if none can subscribe, like, comment, etc.
I checked the official PeerTube documentation. Again, designed for creators and sysadmins. They’re not written for the average Joe looking for a YT alternative - as a consumer. Am I meant to run my own instance just so I can follow a few channels and like a few videos?
Maybe the project team need to go find a few noobs and see if they have any luck getting started because I guarantee you they’ll just give up and put it into the too hard basket.

Creator section great! But HDR support disappeared.

My videos eg yiny.org/w/u5o7y2w2SQjbf6A4BafjPR are all authored HDR rec 2020 hlg but are being played back in rec709 since recent updates. It's Odd; they worked perfectly when I first joined about a year ago.

Hervorragende Idee, Umsetzung ist könnte aber in punkto User Experience wesentlich besser sein. Es sollte leichter sein, verschiedene Plattformen zu finden, ohne dabei die App verlassen zu müssen und grundsätzlich fehlt es an Übersichtlichkeit. Abonnieren, Kommentieren, etc. sollte einfacher sein und nicht pro Plattform. Das würde mit der Zeit sehr schnell unübersichtlich werden und ist nicht wirklich förderlich für die Nutzerfahrung. Dennoch eine gute Idee, welche unterstützt werden sollte… aber mit Luft nach oben.

It’s refreshing to see alternative video platforms. Could use some features like PiP, BG playback or something I’ve never seen before like a widget with video previews.

Used to work brilliantly but now I can't even find my own videos that I've uploaded on maker tube. I mean I can find them like any other user can but I can't manage my own videos any more! All this happened because there was an update to the app, and it logged me out

Keine Barrierefreiheit bei iPhone
Sorry unbenutzbar, da komme ich schon durch die erste Seite nicht durch, da ich nicht zu dem komme was offenbar unter dem Screen ist, es lässt sich auch nicht dahin scrollen. Da ich eine Vergrößerung für bessere Lesbarkeit auf dem iPhone eingestellt habe, liegt es wohl daran. Das muss eine App berücksichtigen, ansonsten ist sie für mich nicht benutzbar. Sorry.

Will not work on small screen phones
I have an iPhone SE 2021 and the Welcome To PeerTube screen comes up, but there is no visible way to navigate to the next screen. I have tried swiping up, down, left, and right to try to scroll to find a button to click. No scrolling. The app is useless to me and others in this state. I would really like to move to this platform along with my favorite content creators but…

Love it, but some hiccups
I love this app, but if you’re like me and aren’t used to federated apps such as this (I’m not even sure if I’m using the right terminology), there is a learning curve. There are work arounds, but you’re going to want to do some trial and error type stuff to fully understand it.
Freezes
Great app but freezes when I try to open it. Have to open it from “joinpeertube.org”

Needs background play capability
When listening to music or a stream you cannot exit the application without the audio/video being interrupted.
