I’ve had the app for about a year or so and I have been thoroughly impressed with the quality and functionality of the app. I also appreciate how the app is continuing to evolve and the developers have even responded to emails in the past. If you wrestle with hermeneutical work (IYKYK) I can attest this app is worth it and subscription. Thanks for adding (more) various translations!

Letting you know of some bugs
When using text boxes: some times a text doesn’t respond to be edited: moving, resize etc.. even while other text boxes can easily be modifies on the same page. It’s just frozen. Tried backing of the app and going back in still frozen

Unfortunately subscription required
This would be great if it was a one time fee. Won’t use bc they lock you into a subscription. Can split screen with a free bible app and note app and achieve the same goal. Also other bible apps give you different versions for free. If you want a different version it’ll be $10 bucks. Obviously they only care about bleeding as much money out of the user as possible.

Favorite Bible App
Pencil Bible is an amazing app for anyone who wants to spend more time in God’s Word. I love how simple, beautiful, and easy to use it is. The ability to read, study, and take notes right in the app makes Bible study feel more personal and engaging. It’s quickly become one of my favorite apps, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great Bible app! One future request would be please consider adding Indian translations especially Malayalam (BSI).

Almost Perfect
Consider adding one more feature: Notes. Listening to messages or exploring a biblical topic from multiple books, I still have to jump between a notebook for the coherent thought or topic to be captured completely. If there was a way to add notes within a folder, I could create a folder called “Sermons” and add a new note to that folder each week while I am at church for whatever topic we are studying. This way I could always get back to revisit what I have studied.
This is where all journaling bibles miss the mark, and I hope you will be the first to solve this 🙏

Wonderful app even better support
I was thrilled to find the Pencil Bible app over a year ago. One of the great frustrations I found after I became an Apple Pencil user 8 or 9 years ago was the lack of pencil support in Bible Apps. This app changed all that. Easy to use. It is customizable enough to get the layout just right. The tools are good. I’m a happy and dedicated user. And on top of that I can’t say enough good things about the support team. Quick, direct response with a strong commitment to assisting customers and solving problems. I’m still using the older first gen pencil on my current iPad purchased in 2017 (still working great). And I had a problem with a recent update with the Pencil Bible App. Erin gathered info, investigated the matter, and worked with me until the problem was solved.

It’s unusable for me.
Downloaded it this morning. I cannot access the BSB, it populates as a blank document, but the biggest issue is my Apple Pencil will not work with the drawing tool function. It won’t draw if I try to use my finger either. All it will do is scroll the page up, down, left and right. No drawing or journaling function at all. I tried reestablishing the Bluetooth of my pencil, and tried deleting the app and downloading again. Nothing different. Right now it’s only ok for reading and I have other apps that already do that for free mind you. Maybe this is an app glitch, maybe it’s not actually supported for older iPads. I’m not sure, but either way, it not a usable app for what it’s advertised for.

Love how relaxing and truthful it is
The best bible app I’ve seen and used, doesn’t ask you to pay ever 5 seconds for a premium subscription just lets you relax and be with God. I love being able to highlight, draw and write on your bible to make it yours.

journaling for the win!
absolutely love being able to journal digitally! I have many physical Bibles I use, but when i’m studying for teaching, I like to use my iPad, and this is so helpful to have a simple Bible I can split screens with my notes and other apps for prepping and while teaching!
2 requests: can we not only move around text once it’s written, but also make it bigger or smaller? and similarly, I’d love to be able to zoom in on the page and zoom out. I love those features in notability and it would be so awesome to have here!

Loving the latest updates!
I have been using this app for years and have always thought it would be great to be able to add pictures to my notes. I love that this feature has been added now! Also the footnotes are wonderfully helpful. Thank you, Erin, for creating this app and making it so usable and for all of the hard work you put into it!

ok now I’m really getting excited. I like to draw and do a lot of pngs with transparent backgrounds. Since apple allows these to be added to camera roll, The ability to pull these images into the bible app has me soooo happy. I had already purchased the one and done and a couple versions of the bible. So yes it’s an investment but not just in the app, but in my own spiritual growth. Now if it could just be possible to zoom the page you are working on…I’d be extremely happy, but even without this is now a solid 5 star app. Love my notes to be along side the scriptures so I don’t have to flip back and forth.

editing stopped working
the app worked fine in the beginning then i struggled to turn the editing bck not able to write or highlight anymore despite deleting and reinstalling the app.
Love it!
I like having the ability to manually highlight, circle and make notes by hand throughout the Bible. I just wish they have t made the icon dark or at least gave us the ability to choose between different ones. Other than that, a must download!

Waste of time
Won't let me use my apple pencil. Also makes me pay for my translation when I subscribed to the membership… don’t waste your time.
