Almost Perfect
Consider adding one more feature: Notes. Listening to messages or exploring a biblical topic from multiple books, I still have to jump between a notebook for the coherent thought or topic to be captured completely. If there was a way to add notes within a folder, I could create a folder called “Sermons” and add a new note to that folder each week while I am at church for whatever topic we are studying. This way I could always get back to revisit what I have studied.
This is where all journaling bibles miss the mark, and I hope you will be the first to solve this 🙏

I was thrilled to find the Pencil Bible app over a year ago. One of the great frustrations I found after I became an Apple Pencil user 8 or 9 years ago was the lack of pencil support in Bible Apps. This app changed all that. Easy to use. It is customizable enough to get the layout just right. The tools are good. I’m a happy and dedicated user. And on top of that I can’t say enough good things about the support team. Quick, direct response with a strong commitment to assisting customers and solving problems. I’m still using the older first gen pencil on my current iPad purchased in 2017 (still working great). And I had a problem with a recent update with the Pencil Bible App. Erin gathered info, investigated the matter, and worked with me until the problem was solved.

It’s unusable for me.
Downloaded it this morning. I cannot access the BSB, it populates as a blank document, but the biggest issue is my Apple Pencil will not work with the drawing tool function. It won’t draw if I try to use my finger either. All it will do is scroll the page up, down, left and right. No drawing or journaling function at all. I tried reestablishing the Bluetooth of my pencil, and tried deleting the app and downloading again. Nothing different. Right now it’s only ok for reading and I have other apps that already do that for free mind you. Maybe this is an app glitch, maybe it’s not actually supported for older iPads. I’m not sure, but either way, it not a usable app for what it’s advertised for.

Love how relaxing and truthful it is
The best bible app I’ve seen and used, doesn’t ask you to pay ever 5 seconds for a premium subscription just lets you relax and be with God. I love being able to highlight, draw and write on your bible to make it yours.

journaling for the win!
absolutely love being able to journal digitally! I have many physical Bibles I use, but when i’m studying for teaching, I like to use my iPad, and this is so helpful to have a simple Bible I can split screens with my notes and other apps for prepping and while teaching!
2 requests: can we not only move around text once it’s written, but also make it bigger or smaller? and similarly, I’d love to be able to zoom in on the page and zoom out. I love those features in notability and it would be so awesome to have here!

Loving the latest updates!
I have been using this app for years and have always thought it would be great to be able to add pictures to my notes. I love that this feature has been added now! Also the footnotes are wonderfully helpful. Thank you, Erin, for creating this app and making it so usable and for all of the hard work you put into it!

ok now I’m really getting excited. I like to draw and do a lot of pngs with transparent backgrounds. Since apple allows these to be added to camera roll, The ability to pull these images into the bible app has me soooo happy. I had already purchased the one and done and a couple versions of the bible. So yes it’s an investment but not just in the app, but in my own spiritual growth. Now if it could just be possible to zoom the page you are working on…I’d be extremely happy, but even without this is now a solid 5 star app. Love my notes to be along side the scriptures so I don’t have to flip back and forth.

editing stopped working
the app worked fine in the beginning then i struggled to turn the editing bck not able to write or highlight anymore despite deleting and reinstalling the app.
Love it!
I like having the ability to manually highlight, circle and make notes by hand throughout the Bible. I just wish they have t made the icon dark or at least gave us the ability to choose between different ones. Other than that, a must download!

Won't let me use my apple pencil. Also makes me pay for my translation when I subscribed to the membership… don’t waste your time.
THE ABSOLUTE BEST BIBLE APP
I waited years for a Bible app that functioned like a traditional Bible. I wanted to be able to write in it, take notes, draw things, highlight, underline, circle, and use my Apple Pencil. This app does all of that and more. And here’s the thing: the developers respond to every email immediately. They are working night and day to make it what users request and need. I cannot thank them enough for their work and commitment. GET THIS APP!

I won’t lie I like the app but there are things that I do not like. Such as iwhen you buy the Lifetime subscription for 79.99 they should at least give you one of the Bible versions for free. I don’t understanding why they’re charging for the different versions of the Bible. Those should come in free and the ability to write in more than 10 chapters should be where they charge. Another issue that I’ve had is my Apple Pencil was working fine one day and then the next day it was not working in the app. I thought it was my pencil until I went to other apps on my iPad and was able to write just fine. I like being able to read the Bible on this app and make notes and highlights, but I do think they need to adjust the cost and fix whatever bug causes your stylus or pencil to stop working.

I moved my stars from 3 to 5, I would give 4.5 if I was not able to. I still do not like that when you pay $79.99 you don’t get it at least one version for free that you want but that’s not a big deal. I am updating because the issue with my pencil not working appeared to be something that I was doing. It seems that I needed to finish the whole introduction so it would not stall my ability to use the app. I don’t know if others have experienced that, but I realize after I completed the full tour now when I login in the morning, I’m able to scroll, highlight and do all of those things. As stated my only issue is that if I’m paying $79.99 it would be nice not to have to pay another $9.99 for the version I want. But I understand they gotta make their money so I’m not mad at them. I highly recommend the app though.

I have been wanting a Bible app that I can take notes on and found Pencil Bible a few years ago. The team is constantly updating to make it even better than it already is!!! Thank you Pencil Bible team for making Bible study easier and fun!!

After getting my iPad with an Apple Pencil, I found myself wanting a Bible that I could take notes in and I came across this app and I am so so thankful that I did! It works exactly as I hoped it would.
I have run into a couple of glitches, but I reached out to support and they have always responded promptly and went in above and beyond to fix any issues. I would definitely highly recommend this app to anyone who is looking to keep digital Bible notes.

Just a Wide Margin Bible !!
The Pencil Bible is my carry along Bible. On my iPad mini, I can read take note, jump over to my journal without having to carry a couple of notebooks and a heavy Bible. i love having it with me all the time. It is simple, but does everything that I need. I recommend it to everyone!!
