Bad Customer Service
Downloaded this app with a free two week trial. Apparently I had done once before in the past. Instead of alerting me that I had already taken advantage of the trial period in the past, they just immediately charged me for a full year at the highest subscription rate of $49. Even though the subscription and my App Store invoice clearly states 2-weeks free. They didn’t even try to offer any kind of apology for the confusion. Pretty much saying it is what it is and we don’t date if you were mislead. No type of apology at all. Also, apparently when you try to share any recipe you have, there is an error. Can’t share at all. Buyer beware.

Hi Michael – We're sorry to hear about your experience! We spoke about this over email but unfortunately we are at the will of your platform provider who ties free trials to Apple IDs, thus preventing you from creating more accounts to earn more free trials. We would've been happy to extend your free trial if you had asked! As for importing, we are the only app that allows for unlimited FREE imports. While Facebook gave us issues over the last couple weeks, they have all been patched and nobody should experience more. Please feel free to email us at help@peppertheapp.com if you have more issues.
Only critique hopefully it can be fixed
When you try a recipe and review it it uploads to your profile as your recipe(it does credit the original creator). But it gets a little confusing it would be nice if they had separate albums, one for your actual recipes and one for recipes you’ve tried and liked (or disliked) this is the only critique so excited to have this app with my mom and sisters we just can’t leave any reviews because we will have the same recipe on all five accounts as our own and it gets very confusing.

Frustrated
Keeps freezing when importing from social media sites...then I have to exit out of all apps and I lose the recipe
Just stopped loading
Since this last update, the app won’t even open on my phone. Has it gone completely subscription based? I’m kinda bummed, I was enjoying the app and collecting some really good recipes.
Not able to upload recipes
I used to be able to copy and paste recipes into the app so others could see them and save them for themselves, but it has been months since that was possible; every time I try to post a recipe, it disappears to who knows where and doesn’t show up in my cookbook at all. I refuse to pay a ridiculous of money to upgrade the app; I’ve been using the free version ever since I started and I’ve never had an issue until now; I’m about ready to just delete it entirely and use another app that doesn’t give me issues

Used to be good
This app used to be super good, I have a lot of recipes saved and that I’ve made but the last few months it’s almost impossible to use. It always says it’s “having server issues” and kicks me off of it. It’s basically unable to be used anymore

A few issues
I was unable to port a recipe over from Facebook, it continued to give me a “something went wrong” error- otherwise great app
THE Best Recipe App
I have had a few good recipe apps over the last several years but this one is by far my favorite. It can catalog both written and video recipes in a nice format that’s easy to follow when cooking and it also gives you a reliable link back to the original video if you want to follow along. There’s been some bug issues, but I’ve never received such amazing customer support as I have from the Pepper team. With every update, it gets better and better. Highly recommend!

This app WAS great
This app was great when I first got it. I even paid for the support. Now, it’s won’t even open, it’s just stuck on the home screen.
I can’t find anything
This is my first one so I think I’ll try a different one, but if you were someone else besides me, you would probably like it, but I don’t like it

I love this app soo much !! It keeps all my recipes in one place that I can see anytime.. Very easy to use!

Pretty decent; not all recipes work which is frustrating
Might as well keep using my pen and paper 🙄😑
So I heard about this app from a pretty prominent cooking influencer and he has done plenty of paid promotions, and all of that for this app and talked about how amazing it was… which is why I decided to download it.
The good things about this app, it is fairly easy to use and fairly easy to search up any type of recipe that you would like. The layout is very nice, and overall usage of the app is very easy and straightforward into the point .
HOWEVER!! 🗣️
The only way you will be able to even save your recipes in your account is if you pay for the premium version of the app, or unless you like the recipe and then follow the person so that you can even keep the recipe, to go back to look at it.
I am fully aware that this app needs to make money to continue operating, and pay all of the developers and people that make the app and what not. But not a single person that I have seen talk about this app, which is pretty much only one or two people tell you that you have to pay to even access all of the “premium” features of the app. And the only premium feature is to literally be able to save the recipes to go back to look at them…. That’s the only point of the whole damn app.
I am having to go back and screenshot the instructions and the ingredients list to save into my phone so that I can write it down somewhere else later so for me personally someone who can’t afford to pay for this app I don’t see the point of even keeping it.
I feel like having a prominent cooking influencer who preaches affordability in their cooking content and being able to feed yourself in your family and affordable ways, talk about this app and hype it up as if it’s a useful platform and it is, but only if you can afford to pay for it to use it to its full potential, which makes absolutely no sense.
For me personally I am right back to square one and there’s no point in me keeping this app on my phone. If I’m just gonna have to keep doing what I did before.
To me this business model is absolutely insane and there has to be an easier way to make it better with the free version even if it was letting someone save up to five recipes for free a day, or one or two it doesn’t even matter.
Back to my pen and paper 📝 I go…

They’ll bill even if you cancel and you won’t get a refund
So far so good
Still learning how to use it. But so far saving recipes off fb is pretty easy. I haven’t tried to find and use them yet.
