Lies about having a trial

App claims to have 14 days trial. In reality, no features work in the “trial” and require immediate subscription. Author seems to be confused about the meaning of “trial” vs “free version”. Basic functions like trimming don’t work (“You can't trim short events” - a minute long video). Weird and confusing UI with constant pop-ups.

Misleading premium description

In the slideshow that shows you what you get for subscribing to premium, it shows the ability to export to a Combined Grid view. I subscribed explicitly for this feature. The problem is that it doesn’t exist. Once you subscribe, in the Help you can see that this is a feature they might deliver in the future (it says it will be delivered in 2024, but it’s currently April 2025).

App doesn’t upload from USB

Used the correct dongles and app wouldn’t load. Waste of $3 you’re better off plugging directly to your Mac. Don’t buy, don’t waste your money. Stupid app, horrible design. 100 percent flawed. I work in tech and found this app useless.

Constant crashing

Version 2.3.0 has never opened for me. Just crashes. Tried to reinstall, restart etc. just wanted to let the developer know. All iOS is up to date.

Handy tool

It’s a handy tool to export saved dashcam videos (e.g. to preserve them post incident)
In my brief tests actual save to a phone failed first two attempts

Good afternoon Timofey! Thanks for your review, but we're sorry to hear you've had issues. We've reached out to you privately to diagnose the issues you're facing saving events. If you're adding events from your USB drive to Perception, certain factors may cause the import to fail - likewise if you're storing events onto your device with Perception certain actions may cause this to fail (such as putting the app into background, not having enough space, event videos being partially corrupted). It'd be great if you could share some further details so we can investigate the underlying cause and put this right - thanks! Regarding Family Sharing - this was partially enabled across some of the app but a few subscriptions were missed during setup. We've enabled Family Sharing across all subscriptions now - thanks for bringing this to our attention. Thanks for trying Perception, we look forward to hearing from you soon!
