I would rate it higher if I could tag all faces that Apple doesn’t recognize
I like so much about the app, but it’s really frustrating that I can’t tag faces that the photo scan misses. Would really love a feature that you could click on the face in the photo and manually add a tag if necessary.

Update July 2026 It seems that this app has got even worse. It’s even less customisable than it was before. Hate this app and would give it zero if i could.
I used to really like this app but then Apple took away the customisation of slideshow transitions etc. Bring back the origami option in particular. Why take it away? Slide shows are now as boring as anything.

I use this app when I want to look at my photos, that’s really all it is. I find that you can’t really design an app like this any better
Only partially works
Randomly tells me some files can't be downloaded, saved to my phone or shared. No further explanation. Not very useful.

i couldnt delete the app and i hade no photos besides 1 and i hade 178 gb of storage gone
What’s so bad about iOS18?
I don’t get the hate around iOS18 ruining the photos app. As someone who uses iPad 10th generation, I don’t understand.

Fix your botched app
Spent three hours editing a family photo with markup. Zoomed in at one point and the screen went white. Entire app crashed. All three hours of progress was lost. Not the first time it happened either. Lost track of how many times I’ve gotten errors after editing a photo with markup. Funny enough each time there’s a new error code.
Great app to waste your time on, packed with tons of bugs. Totally suggest using if you want to kill time and leave with nothing but frustration and sore eyes.

I hate this app, and so much data/storage is removed and paused because of taking memorable photos and videos, this is a HORRIBLE APP. But is useful for taking photos just aint that good with them storage

Apple's sw engineers are at it again with the photos app.
Apple has destroyed the utility of this App and Cost Me Money.
Don't these brilliant idiots realize people might be using their iPhones for real-world tasks, and that their obligatory updates take their toll?
Does it take any more than common sense to think to present loyal users with 'Optional New Features Available' rather than, "nothing is going to work the way it did yesterday"?!
Yet, Apple's upgrade policy is to usurp choice and enforce conformity. Why?
Apple, rethink your actions.
Honest, an old Apple slogan Steve Jobs coined was "have it your way", about as true nowadays as Google's 'do no harm'.
These sw engineers' biggest error?= thinking, they know how we want to organize and access our photos, and then Forcing that method on us!

can you add a counter on photos that are in the recently deleted category it’d be helpful to see how many photos or videos are there and when’s a good time to clear the category after high numbers please
