4.5.1: ‣ Fixed a few bugs with how albums with missing release dates are handled 4.5: ‣ Search your albums by year! Typing a specific year into the search bar won’t just pull up title/artist matches but also any albums with a matching release date ‣ Play, shuffle, or queue an entire set of album or song search results with convenient new buttons ‣ Fixed a bug where the Now Playing bar could stop updating when returning to the app after enough time away ‣ Reissues with bonus tracks now use the original album release date if it differs from the date the bonus tracks are tagged with ‣ Playlist sort options now just apply temporarily instead of across all playlists and app sessions ‣ Fixed a crash that could happen if a playlist was edited outside of the app while its details were open in Picky

Great add-on

Needed an App that found my music wherever it was stored, I paid for the Picky Deluxe, only £5, cheap as chips and one that doesn’t charge hundreds each year. ( this is a one off payment). Highly recommended. Looking forward to more enhancements.

Wasted money

Do not purchase. It ask you for .99 and only search local q. It then ask you to purchase plus for 4.99 and still can only search locally. My media files are on a network drive so I cannot access them.

Finally found what I wanted

I’ve been downloading alternatives to the iPhone Music app for years, always to return to Apple’s mediocre default. This is the first time I’ve been happy with something else. - Snappy performance - Good design with easy navigation that isn’t constantly stranding you on the “recently added” page - The “picklist” feature is fantastic for building a queue quickly - Cute icon If I had to ask for something, I would love for the option for the currently playing panel to default to “open” when I launch the app.

Edit: Still loving Picky! Makes my music listening so much easier.

Response from developer

Aw shucks, I’m thrilled to hear you’re so pleased with Picky! And thanks for the suggestion, I’ll add it to my ideas list for consideration for a future update 🙂. Cheers, Charles

I guess it’s worth the money

This is a good music player cause it automatically imports your songs which is good the only thing I didn’t like was that there was an other in app purchase call picky deluxe which I went ahead and brought to show my support

FAQ

What does Picky Music Player do?

Picky Music Player is a sophisticated music utility that provides users with extensive control over their music library. It allows for advanced filtering, sorting, and queuing of songs and albums, enabling a highly personalized listening experience. You can hide clutter, create custom song groups, and organize your music in ways not typically offered by standard music apps.

How can I filter my music with Picky?

You can easily filter your Songs and Albums lists by genre, including selecting multiple genres simultaneously. This feature is useful for quickly creating custom mixes or focusing on specific types of music. The app also allows you to filter out singles or artists with only a few songs, keeping your main lists cleaner.

Is Picky Music Player free to use?

The application is free to download and use, but it offers in-app purchases. These purchases likely unlock additional features or customization options beyond the core functionality. Specific pricing details for these in-app purchases would be available within the app itself.

What devices is Picky Music Player compatible with?

Picky Music Player is designed for iOS 15 and later versions. It supports a wide range of iOS features and hardware, including widgets, Dark Mode, Split View, AirPlay 2, iPad trackpads, Context Menus, VoiceOver, and headphone remotes. It also integrates with Apple Music content added to your collection and iTunes Match.

How do I queue songs in Picky Music Player?

To queue up tracks for later playback, simply swipe left on a song until a '+' icon appears and turns solid orange. Releasing your finger at this point will add the song to your playback queue. This allows you to easily build a list of songs you want to hear without interrupting your current listening session.
