What's New in PicStrip

1.7.0

October 10, 2026

PicStrip 1.7 is a big update: it now cleans videos, and its camera shows what it would cover before you shoot. • Videos: faces, text, codes and your Always Cover words are found, followed as they move, and covered — with a blur, a solid box or an emoji for each face. • Cover any object in a video by drawing around it; PicStrip tracks it forwards and back. • Trim every cover on a video-editor timeline, and bleep or mute what was said. • One camera for photos, video and documents. Record in up to 4K with HDR using the controls you know from the Camera app; in Photo mode, a live viewfinder outlines what it would redact. • Pick photos and videos together: one opens the editor, several are cleaned at once. • Share videos to PicStrip from any app to remove their metadata, or open them to cover faces and text. A new Shortcuts action strips metadata from videos. • Cover with an emoji, tap an object to cover it on iOS 27, and leave the last digits of a card or phone number showing. • Always Cover: your name, a plate or your street, covered wherever PicStrip reads them. • Scan documents, pick just your screenshots, keep a Live Photo's motion, and compare before and after. • Sharing presets, a visible file size, and a summary of what was removed. • Faster exports and batches, a smoother video editor, and a camera that saves battery while you hold it still. Automatic detection can miss details. Please review the entire photo or video before sharing.
