Where the people I enjoy, enjoy together

Pie is such a refreshing way to meet people and make genuine connections! What I love most is that it goes beyond simply connecting online. It creates opportunities to actually meet people in real life who share your interests, passions, and sense of adventure.

I founded the What A Small World community through Pie, and it has been such a fun experience. I hosted a What A Small World: Travel Tales & Cocktails event where people came together to swap travel stories, talk about their favorite destinations, and find others who wanted to travel to the same places. Watching people who had never met before leave with new connections and potential travel buddies was honestly so rewarding.

I also love how easy it is to turn an idea into an actual community. Pie makes it feel natural to find people who are excited about the same things you are.

If you are new to a city, looking to expand your social circle, or simply want to find your people, I highly recommend Pie. It has made meeting people feel exciting and intentional again!

good conceptually but needs work

great app concept but the addition of ai is a major bummer 👎 it’s clunky and unnecessary and sad to see it being forced into absolutely everything. everyone planning the event just ignored it because it was in the way. having to set a relationship status has also meant getting unwanted friend requests from random men which is another huge ick. i do like the new feature of posting an idea and allowing a gc to form a plan together, just for the love of god not with ai. accidentally tapping into the plan ideas and being auto added to the chat has been making my phone blow up and probably obscuring the messages i do want to see. the addition of groups is interesting but getting added to them without permission is a bit annoying

Response from developer

We love this review. You've accurately called out a lot of the tradeoffs we've made and we're already in flight of addressing all of them. What's happening: - relationship status optional and later an option to have it and hide it - AI to a discrete one liner and then default off unless called upon (let's make it useful when asked for) - the group auto-add era will be brief, it will be opt-in driven in onboarding soon - star is being removed soon and we will move to a high trust and safety follow model We appreciate your feedback. It's making us better. This is genuinely good stuff. Thanks for being a Pieoneer!

You don’t need my phone number!

I keep hearing about Pie - they’re getting some great press coverage! I downloaded it and wanted to check it out, but the first thing it demands in my phone number, which I don’t give out to apps. Now, I’ve read comments here on the App Store, and Pie has some really good, human, often funny responses to negative reviews, so before you tell me about how you’d never use my data for the wrong purposes, it’s not about that. It’s data security, and phone numbers are sensitive data. No company is unbreachable. And you don’t need my phone number, so stop using it as a cornerstone because it’s easier for you to do (it reads as lazy). Show us you care more about us than easy. Come up with a new way.

Appreciate you giving Pie a shot (and the thoughtful feedback)! We ask for a phone number because it's one of the best ways we have to keep bots and fake accounts off the platform and make the community feel more human. We know that tradeoff won't be for everyone, but we're grateful you took the time to share your perspective.

Small town girl in a big city

I’m so grateful to the person who told me to download PIE! As a social person moving to a new big place, I was struggling finding community that felt right. I found myself in place and spaces and didn’t feel authentic to me. Then someone suggested this app and said how it took the pressure off of meeting people because it was just local everyday people creating events for community. Ever since then, I have felt unstoppable! My social calendar is full and I feel so confident and comfortable putting myself in these new setting sometimes alone. This app has really inspired me to get back into Event Operation work because seeing how possible it is to create something meaningful really has me itching to create community events again! Thank you!

Fun and handy

Super easy to use and comes in handy for schedule parties or even casual hang outs with friends

Temu Partiful

Just use Partiful this is kinda lame

Pie is Pie

Pretty cool app to get to know your community

good, except trying to be a dating app for some reason???

- please add a “sync to calendar” feature
- the tinder/swiping screen is weird af, get rid of it or at least make it less prominent and harder to accidentally click on??? it makes the whole app feel icky
- please don’t make me share my relationship status, it’s icky and irrelevant

event app that forces users to disclose relationship status

wtf thought this was an app for events, community, friendship, all that. now feels like a dating app? it forces u to provide your relationship status in order to use the app. is point to get people offline? or have people lurk profiles?

good concept, less than decent execution

and good god please stop requiring updates for this app every other day

New update sucks

I hadn’t been on the app for a while, and the new updates make it so unpleasant to use. I liked the app better when it just showed events. I don’t care who’s friends with who or who’s following what. App is still useful for finding events, there’s just so much extra garbage to sift through

Pie in ATX

I just moved to Austin a month ago and attended my first event from Pie last night. I met several new friends and had a great time! Excited to try more fun things soon.

Love

Pie is onederful platform to create your events or find events in your local areas it’s so well structured

It’s cool

Made it easy to create an event without jumping through all the hoops… plus… I really like pie

Amazing idea!

This is such a great way to streamline social activities going on in cities. Instead of having to keep track of multiple pages on Instagram or TikTok I can see how this app would make connecting in person that much easier!

Response from developer

Love this. That’s exactly the problem we’re trying to solve: less tab-hopping, more actually getting out there and meeting people IRL. Thanks for the kind words and for being here - means a lot 🫶

review

So far loving and doesn’t have so many rules like other ticket holder websites , easy sign up

This app is a scam

I see what this app is really intended for. It won’t change city’s it’s always LA and I live 3000 miles away from LA The developer emailed me and said they would love to see what I’m seeing It’s not that hard to understand that the app is obviously broke because it’s fake There fishing for information stay away from this app…
