What's New in Pillio Pill Reminder & Tracker

1.6.0

August 10, 2026

Reminders you can count on. • Fixed: reminders could stop being scheduled and never arrive. This was the root cause behind missed alerts — it is fixed. • New: send a test notification from Settings › Notifications and check your reminders reach you, without creating a test medication. • New: photo confirmation. Confirming a dose asks for a photo of your medication, and missed-dose reminders keep insisting until you confirm. • New: iCloud sync status in Settings — see at a glance whether your data is really being saved to iCloud. • Reminders set only a few minutes ahead now fire reliably. Thank you for your feedback — it shaped this update!

User reviews

Easy Setup

Helpful free app for someone who has to take multiple pills at different times of the day. Great for personal use or for caretakers.

Response from developer

Thank you so much for your kind words and 5-star review! We're thrilled to hear that Pillio is proving to be a helpful tool for managing multiple medications. We appreciate you highlighting its usefulness for both personal use and for caretakers!

In need of features/early stages

Definitely think it’s in need of features. Tried to test it by making a notification in 3 minutes, no notif, nothing. I currently use Alarmy which forces me to take a picture of the med in my hand before it dismisses. I was expecting similar features here, but I could find nothing of the sort.

Response from developer

Thank you for taking the time to write this — you found a real bug, not a missing feature. The reminder you set for 3 minutes genuinely never fired. A scheduling issue could silently cancel reminders shortly after they were created, and a separate timing bug affected reminders set only a few minutes ahead. Both are fixed in version 1.6.0. Two things in that update come directly from your review: • Photo confirmation — exactly the flow you described. Confirming a dose asks for a photo of the medication in your hand, and missed-dose reminders keep insisting until you confirm. It's in Settings › Notifications (part of the premium features). • A "send a test notification" button, so you never have to create a fake medication just to check that reminders actually reach you. If you give Pillio another try after updating, I'd genuinely like to know whether it holds up for you.

Problem

Alarm did not sound next day

Response from developer

Hi, and thank you for flagging this — you're right, and we're sorry the reminder let you down. We tracked down the cause: in some cases Pillio's daily reminders weren't rescheduling themselves for the following days unless the app was reopened. It's fixed in the next update (1.4.1): daily reminders now repeat reliably on their own, every day, even if you don't open the app. We're also adding a louder, alarm-style alert that can sound through Silent mode and Focus. Please update when 1.4.1 lands — and thank you for helping make Pillio better.

Alarm

There is no where to set an alarm on an iPad

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback, and sorry for the confusion! You can set a reminder/alarm in Pillio: tap the blue + button in the center of the bottom bar, add your medication, and choose its reminder time(s) under "Schedule" — Pillio then notifies you at those times (just make sure notifications are allowed, or turn them on in Settings → Notification Settings). You were right that this wasn't obvious. Our next update makes it much clearer where to set your reminders, and adds Dark Mode and full accessibility support (VoiceOver, Dynamic Type). A dedicated iPad layout is on the way too. Thanks for helping us improve!
