Best European Portuguese

It may seem dry to some but it is well structured and the lessons stick in your head. Far Breyer for European Portuguese than any other app that I’ve tried and my Portuguese wife says that while it’s accurate for formal and informal speech, the little she has heard hopefully includes slang and shortcuts in daily speech.

It’s working

I had my doubts about using an app to help pronounce certain things, but they’re doing a really good job breaking apart, very hard to speak words and it’s making those hard to speak words very easy to speak

You’ll actually speak the language

If you are serious about learning to speak a language, this is the best way. It focuses on
speaking and comprehension which are the critical skills to communication.
I spoke with a DELF examiner who said they can always tell when someone uses Pimsleur. Their speaking, pronunciation and comprehension is much better than others.
I set aside a 1/2 hr a day and really feel the progress. I highly recommend it.

Many options

Pimsleur provides many options for learning, to the point where it takes a little while to figure out what works best. Maybe a little more guidance in that department would be helpful.

So easy and fun

Amazing😊 this is a must try!!!

Amazing! Just one single thing…

I love this app. I’m learning German, soon Japanese, then Spanish is my next goals. But there’s one thing I dislike… the speaker comes back too quickly to fix my mistake when I’m in the middle of speaking it. I’ve just started German, and the app gives me minimal time to say the sentence. I process the questions, recall the phrase and words, then it speaks in the middle of my sentence and messes me up. Only that has been my problem so far. Amazing app, 100% recommend for learning a language. But I hope they one day the speaker will give a little more time to let the user speak.

Get your wallets out.

Get ready to pay an absolutely mind boggling amount monthly, their priority is to extract as much money as possible first, not to help users learn. YIKES!!!

Spanish 4 and 5 desperately needs to update

Good method to learn language consistently overtime. But dear Lord, please update Spanish 4 and 5-it’s content is from 2010. The female speaker is also very hard to understand as she speaks too fast compared to the male speaker in these lessons. The female speaker in Spanish two and three is much preferred. There should also be a way to slow down the speech during the lesson.

Best

I’m not a natural linguist and this far away the best method I’ve come across to learn to converse in another language

Great app but wish I could switch to a yearly subscription

I really enjoy using this app to work on my pronunciation for the various languages I am learning. It is easy to switch between the languages and still maintain my place in each language I am learning. I hope Scottish Gaelic and Lakota languages will be added in the near future.

I do wish there was a way to switch from the monthly all access subscription to the annual plan though. It was not available as an option when I first purchased the app, but I would prefer the yearly rather than the monthly subscription plan.

Learn immediately

This is a great way to start learning and it is the only app I have found that charges by the month!

Layered multi-step

I like the general layout and steps, I just wish the written was introduced earlier.

Best language app on the market

Pimsleur is simply fantastic. The learning modes are excellent and cater to all learning styles.

Best crash course ever!

Do not look elsewhere if you want to survive and not look like a complete idiot. This is the only app worth your time.

MLPenn

The program is really fantastic. It is well organized and takes a coherent approach to language learning. Bravo!

Excellent

This app is amazing, it helped me to learn Portuguese, to improve my English, learn some German and I’m currently studying Norwegian because I want to move there. Thanks Preply

Expensive

Highly rated and helpful but the lessons go very fast. It’s hard to make sure you understand a word when they blow through it so quickly, even when they repeat it a lot. Also, not sure why they break down words/phrases in reverse, often times not saying the whole word. It’s a bit pricey for something that can be difficult to use.

Very helpful for speaking French

I learned textbook French years ago, and could never pull all my words together to speak it and this app has been great!

Best Language Learning App!!

I love this app!

Best learning app ever!

I’ve learned to speak and understand 100% better in half the time than in any other learning app! I will definitely recommend this to friends!
