Great app for conversation

I know a lot of Spanish words but am not confident in speaking. This app is helping me use the words I already know in conversation.

Accessible and effective

Much better than some other options for learning to pronounce and to learn in such a way that I can recall the correct words

Very easy to use.

Enjoy listening in the car and following up with the app portions after

Great so far

Very good app to learn a new language

In the past five years, the app is barely changed

I deleted the app and my subscription over five years ago. I decided to try it again and I Shokz to find out that the app has barely changed or improved at all. The biggest draw to Pimsleur is that it focuses on speaking and it’s the hands-free learning. People use it while they’re driving or running errands, etc. Aside from listening to the content Voice coach is the best feature however after 5 years of their users requesting AUTO START ANS STOP FOR VOICE COACH THEY STILL HAVENT IMPLEMENTED IT! This is supposed to be hands-free! How has this simple UX improvement still not been implemented?? Barely anything has improved either! So disappointing given that it is probably the most expensive Spanish learning app out there! Where is the money going? Not worth it.

A firm foundation!

Pimsleur courses will give you just enough to begin reading elementary school books in any language, and set you on a firm foundation to build your skills with other resources. I have high hopes they will expand their offerings in Hungarian. I have used their courses for German, Japanese, Italian, Russian, Hungarian, and other languages to good results. It is worth the investment!

Great. Want more!

This beginning Icelandic is very good, but basic. Hopefully, more advanced lessons will be provided sometime soon.

Learn by actually speaking

It’s easy to bash the owl, but Pimsleur offers a genuinely different method of learning. It’s speech-first, with nothing written on screen as you go through your lesson. It focuses on pronunciation, context and genuine interaction with the language. You cover spelling and bits of grammar in the after-lesson tasks, but if you want to speak, then speak! Pimsleur makes that happen.

My progress in Italian is so much better now. The gamified bird lures you into a false sense of progress; say “non lo voglio” and talk to Dr Pimsleur.

Lessons

Wish it was a slow down part of the lesions so I can try to practice the word I feel myself rushing to get a word out knowing I only have 4sec before they answer

From all the methods this by far I find it the best

I’ve tried many methods to learn quickly a new language, you can get a good base start with this one then processed with a teacher. But to achieve at least intermediate Pimsleur will help you

You’re doing great

Great!

Love using the flash card after i learn.

Incredibly disappointed

The introductory lesson was great. It spoke at a normal speed and then broke it down slowly. The actual lessons once you pay on the other hand… nothing as good as the intro lesson and I’m someone using multiple apps to learn.

Annoying

I travel a lot and every time I travel to another country it signs me off and I have trouble signing in. Who are
morons who designed this app?

Excellent tool!

An excellent tool for learning! my only issue is wanting more languages from Africa like Yoruba. Also more lessons within languages like Haitian, Egyptian Arabic, Portuguese (Brazil & Portugal) etc.

Brasil

I like the fact that I can learn while I'm driving. I drive 100 miles a day so learning this way works well.

Awesome

I feel like this one is the one that will actually help me learn.

I like it a lot

I found it better than most other apps and it helps me pronounce much better with repetition.

Moving forward

Best app so far

If you do everything on here for about an hour a day, he will definitely learn a bunch of phrases and maybe be able to pick out some words in a conversation but it’s going to take a while and you’re not going to have a solid understanding for Years
