The App has many ways to learn. It is easy to get started and you learn to have meaningful conversations on lesson one. They also have flash cards, ways to hear yourself speak, and soon you can string together phrases to express yourself. I love it.
Learning quickly!
Im wanting to learn to speak Swahili and this learning style is set up for that! Pimsleur is teaching me mostly through audio so Im not spending time learning to spell or write unless I want to. Its great!

No fillers, it’s not a game, for serious learners or those who need more of a listen along approach. I’m learning steadily each day and feel like my money is well spent at this rate.
Poor UI, dull,
simple tasks, like trying a language, once selected it is impossible to unselect: app dev 101. Lessons are boring and too slow (at least for languages related to native language). Maybe ok for very different languages. Also should evaluate current knowledge and suggest a starting point. This is possible if they're already using voice AI.

I found the app useful in different ways . I already knew both Turkish and Spanish but I couldn’t speak them. You can’t have a real language partner everyday to practice, but this app can be a substitute for the one; first of all, it works on your mouth muscles to produce the sounds of the target language through repetition and also like the way I don’t have to go to rigid process of learning grammar because during the lesson, you learn the grammar unknowingly.

Uh, No Welsh?
Doesn't seem to have minority languages, such as Breton, Cornish, Irish, Scotish, and Welsh. I'd love to learn Welsh, but I appreciate all the audio lessons honestly. Never tried this app but sounds promising. The reason I never tried actually doing anything with it was because there was no option for learning Welsh.

I really enjoy my Pimsleur lessons. If your goal is to speak and understand a new language, Pimsleur is the best method I have found. I highly recommend the method.
The Only Language Learning System For Me!
This is my third time using Pimsleur. I first used this system more than ten years ago and became functionally fluent in German in nine months. A couple of years ago I used it to learn conversational Finnish. I am returning to German again after many years of barely speaking it and am already seeing progress after just two lessons.

Not recommended for Japanese
1 star because I liked that you can listen to 30 minute lessons while stuck in morning and afternoon traffic. The multiple choice quiz questions are useless because there is always 1 obvious correct choice. You aren’t going to learn any hiragana or reading relying on their reading lessons which are done poorly. The order in which you learn things is nonsensical. It was well over 30 lessons before you learn things like “nice to meet you”. But one of the first things you learn is that you would like to buy gloves and a keychain? After 60 lessons I think I still didn’t learn how to ask for the check at a restaurant.

I’ve tried different apps I’ve not found anything better than Pimsleur …I find it gives you the best combinations of pronunciation explanation’s and ease of use love♥️ it thanks Pimsleur!
Great app
I feel that of the 3 apps I've tried, I learn the fastest with Pimsleur. Love that I can listen while driving or doing rhings around the house. Love the practice apps that accompany the 30 min lessons. Sometimes I break the 30 min sessions into 10 or 15 min sessions if I don't have time. Things are popping out of my mouth that surprise me (and those I'm speaking with) sometimes !!

Would be 5 stars if voice coach worked
It’s beyond frustrating how they use a third party AI and often times that will be busy and not work. This has been an on going issue for a week. I will be changing to one star if they don’t fix the voice coach.

Excellent for 0 to 1 in a new language, less useful after
Pimsleur is the best way to start a brand new language that I’ve tried. In two months I got from not speaking a word of German to being able to get around and talk about functional topics (making plans, introductions, times, travel, etc.). It is easy and fun to watch yourself progress so quickly. However, I have two significant reservations about Pimsleur. 1.) after you finish the first level, the time the recording allows you to respond to questions gets very short. There’s no option to slow it down. This means that often before I can think through and find the correct words, it’s already feeding me the answer. I find myself pausing it constantly, and it interferes with my learning. 2.) at least in the German course, content after the first level is introduced in a weird order. There’s are many fundamental things we haven’t covered, and niche ones we have. For example, I don’t know how to say to walk, sleep, learn, read, or a number of basic verbs but I can say to lend and to give back (as in returning borrowed money). I don’t know any emotions, any words related to cooking, any clothes or parts of the body but I know words for flag, ski lodge, and Olympic stadium. There’s a big emphasis on adverbs. Why?

Better way to learn
I’ve tried the other popular language app with all the games, tracking rewards and such but didn’t get the same quality learning that I’ve got from Pimsleur. I love being able to listen and participate in conversational learning. It just seems to stick so much better and make more sense. After just 20 days of Pimsleur, I’m so much more confident in my understanding of a new language than I was after 150 days of the other app. So glad this was recommended to me.

Pimsleur is Outstanding
I am thrilled to be able to work on three languages that are important to me; Danish, my mother’s language; German, I lived in Germany for 4 years but never progressed beyond rudimentary conversation and French, which I studied in high school. I love that I can practice while walking the dog, washing the dishes or driving the car.
