New version is horrible. Do not take the update

I used to love playing this app but the new version is horrible. The 3D improvements take too much of the screen and it is very hard to see the cards. The options don’t even fit well in the Iphone screen. And now, it automatically provides the option to chow but it covers the screen and makes it hard to see your cards. Then it only gives about 3 seconds before it passes the opportunity. New version is terrible. Do not take the upgrade! Bring back the 2D version.

Response from developer

We hear you, and we’re sorry the redesigned table has made the game harder to play. Your specific concerns about the crowded iPhone layout, tile visibility, claim window covering the hand, and limited response time are exactly the issues we’re working to improve. We’re also actively working on a way to restore access to the original game experience for players who prefer it. Thank you for your patience and for explaining what needs attention so clearly.

Horrible Update

I miss the version before the new update. I have to rotate my phone to draw a new tile and then rotate it again to see all my tiles. I don’t have enough time to claim a discarded tile because it’s hard to see the tiles I have. It’s also hard to see all the discarded tiles and see the other exposed hands of other players. The new version also has different rules where you need 18 tiles to win when it should be 17 tiles (5 sets of 3 + 1 pair). I lost 100k+ chips that I accumulated before the update and I had paid to buy chips to try the new version. Please revert back to the previous version.

Was our whole fam’s go to

- We loved this and hoped that one day they’d update it to be better. We would’ve even paid for it if they did…. But not like this

- Either there is a glitch in the game or everyone I’ve ever met plays “authentic Pinoy mahjong” wrong. It wants you to play with 18 tiles… and it’s all set, you don’t win. Needs to be fixed asap.

- also, you buy credits to be able to play and once you’re out of credits, you’re done. So no free option? It might make sense to pay for my mom and dad to play because they have the time but to think I have to spend some money to play a game or two is stingy.

Very sad what’s happened to the game and it makes me wonder if the had any product manager/r&d team work on this.

1-star app disguised with a 4-star cloak

Before this disappointing July 2026 update, my family had been enjoying the original version of this app for a long time. Our 92yo mom was also addicted to the classic version too- bringing her so much joy on a daily basis! Now the joy has turned into anger and disappointment with this new version. Tile counts are not correct, games moved so fast none of us could keep up. We couldn’t figure out how to claim tiles fast enough even after tweaking unintuitive settings. More frustrating than enjoyable now so we found a a replacement app and we are deleting this one and never looking back. This new app might look all pretty and sophisticated with snazzy graphics but it’s not worth your time or money.

Response from developer

Your family’s story matters to us, especially the daily enjoyment Pinoy Mahjong brought your 92-year-old mom. Version 3.0.3 adds adjustable game pace, larger tile choices, easier-to-read tile faces, improved iPhone layouts, clearer claim controls, and a walkthrough that teaches each table action. We’re working to make the game welcoming for longtime players and beginners, not merely more visually elaborate. Please check the App Store page for the update; we would be honored if your family tried the refined table together.

Bring back the old version!

The latest version is more confusing and unorganized. Too many options/settings. I miss the more simple version. I was addicted to playing that version and even got my family hooked on it. We can all agree that we are NOT playing this app anymore. And finding other apps that are simple and easy. We just want to play mahjong!
