Horrible Update

I miss the version before the new update. I have to rotate my phone to draw a new tile and then rotate it again to see all my tiles. I don’t have enough time to claim a discarded tile because it’s hard to see the tiles I have. It’s also hard to see all the discarded tiles and see the other exposed hands of other players. The new version also has different rules where you need 18 tiles to win when it should be 17 tiles (5 sets of 3 + 1 pair). I lost 100k+ chips that I accumulated before the update and I had paid to buy chips to try the new version. Please revert back to the previous version.

Was our whole fam’s go to

- We loved this and hoped that one day they’d update it to be better. We would’ve even paid for it if they did…. But not like this

- Either there is a glitch in the game or everyone I’ve ever met plays “authentic Pinoy mahjong” wrong. It wants you to play with 18 tiles… and it’s all set, you don’t win. Needs to be fixed asap.

- also, you buy credits to be able to play and once you’re out of credits, you’re done. So no free option? It might make sense to pay for my mom and dad to play because they have the time but to think I have to spend some money to play a game or two is stingy.

Very sad what’s happened to the game and it makes me wonder if the had any product manager/r&d team work on this.

1-star app disguised with a 4-star cloak

Before this disappointing July 2026 update, my family had been enjoying the original version of this app for a long time. Our 92yo mom was also addicted to the classic version too- bringing her so much joy on a daily basis! Now the joy has turned into anger and disappointment with this new version. Tile counts are not correct, games moved so fast none of us could keep up. We couldn’t figure out how to claim tiles fast enough even after tweaking unintuitive settings. More frustrating than enjoyable now so we found a a replacement app and we are deleting this one and never looking back. This new app might look all pretty and sophisticated with snazzy graphics but it’s not worth your time or money.

Bring back the old version!

The latest version is more confusing and unorganized. Too many options/settings. I miss the more simple version. I was addicted to playing that version and even got my family hooked on it. We can all agree that we are NOT playing this app anymore. And finding other apps that are simple and easy. We just want to play mahjong!

Terrible terrible update

Why oh why did you guys change it. You can’t even see the cards on iPhone. It’s so confusing. My 92 yr old mother loved the original version. My whole family got hooked on this app. Now it’s completely useless. Developers need to abandon this new update and allow users to restore the version prior
to this crazy update. So not a smart move releasing this new update. Ughhh!

Bring back Pinoy Mahjong 2

Why did you update the app into something completely different?? There was nothing wrong with it before - except for the lack of option to mute sound. I've lost all 400k+ chips I've accumulated only to open the app one day & find that I have to pay for chips to play again? Please bring back the old Pinoy Mahjong 2!!

Changed the whole thing

Nooo you guys changed the whole thing and the ux is now harder :( there’s too much info in the window it’s like a tutorial rather than an actual game. Prefer the way it was played before :(

pinoy mahjong

your game dont deserve a good rating

Odds off?

I have played over 700 games. The three computer players get way more 7 double and or 1-9 str then possible. I feel I have had a handfull of 7 dbl, 2 1-9’s. Need to see if the algorythm is off.

Fun and addictive!

Love playing this game - wish I could play with friends and family!

missing a lot of rules and logic

Pinoy Mahjong App is honestly one of the most frustrating game experiences I’ve had. The feature set feels barebones, but the real problem is the logic—it’s just badly engineered. There were multiple rounds where I clearly had winning hands lined up, only for the game to force me into breaking perfectly good melds and pairs for no reason. It makes zero sense.

On top of that, the pacing is ridiculous. The computer players take their turns at lightning speed—like everything just happens instantly—so you can’t even follow what’s going on. It genuinely feels like the AI is just playing among itself while you sit there trying to catch up. Then suddenly it’s your turn and you’re left thinking, “What just happened?”

The whole thing feels chaotic, poorly designed, and honestly kind of broken. And to make matters worse, the voice is incredibly annoying. It’s hard to enjoy a game when everything about it feels rushed, confusing, and half-baked.

Response from developer

Hi nurselyman22, thank you for the detailed feedback. Since this review, we’ve made major updates to pacing, move clarity, rules help, audio controls, and turn history. The newer version includes a Table Log, Guided and Classic modes, Learn Mahjong, and improved computer-player timing. We’re also continuing to review the game logic against Pinoy Mahjong rules so valid hands and claims behave as expected. We appreciate you taking the time to explain what felt confusing.

Great App

The app is good, but I wish it had a toggle for the volume limit.

Fun

I enjoy playing Mahjong

Teaching me how to play

Helping me learn how to play Filipino mahjong. How do you mute the sound??

Make it live Majhong.

I love this game and it would much fun if we play with live people. We can play with friends and family live.

Reliant on the chip system

Upon busting out of chips, the game prevents you from playing until you wait for hours or pay for more. It's sort of annoying when I want to play this version of Mahjong on a whim but I can't because I "don't have any money".

Pace Settings

The pace is too fast. Is there a setting to low for beginners?

Greedy for payment

Need to top up when left out of chips and you have to wait for four hours to have and just play only one loss. It's annoying!

Good app

Need to be able to turn sound off. the game is fun and plays good. But only Filipino mahjong game I can find. So worth the download
