About

Pipe Craftsmen is the pipefitter's toolbox: the numbers you work to, in the tape's own language, with every dimension copied from the published standards and every drawing showing where the number actually runs on the steel. THE CALCULATOR Feet, inches and fractions natively - 5'-6" + 3'-9" reads back 9'-3". Metric keys, angle mode with decimal and DMS entry, store and recall shared across every keypad in the app, session history, and your starred measurements one tap from the display. Every answer is ready to copy, store, or feed the next sum. THE FITTINGS REFERENCE Every dimension of every fitting, from the published tables: - Butt weld (ASME B16.9): all sixteen types - Socket weld (ASME B16.11): classes 3000/6000/9000, measured to the socket bottom, your pull-back applied - Threaded (ASME B16.11): all ten types including street elbows, plugs and bushings - the make-on subtracts, because a thread makes the pipe longer - Flanges (ASME B16.5): all six kinds, classes 150-2500, raised-face rule built in - Grooved (Victaulic): elbows, tees and crosses, with the groove specification itself - gasket seat, width, diameter, and the lightest wall that may be roll or cut grooved Every page draws its fitting in section with the selected takeoff dimensioned on the steel. Set your root gap, socket pull-back, thread make-on and grooved separation once; every takeoff in the app follows. THE TOOLS - Pipe Offset: solve the triangle from any two facts, then get the fitting each end needs, the pipe between, and its weight - Equal Spread: parallel lines turning together - the advance that keeps the spread equal through the corner - Rolled Offset: roll, set and advance into one travel, with the bend angle and the roll angle told apart - Miter Joints: cut angle, cutback, and the blank drawn flat on the bench, marked for cutting - Fitting Cutdown: a 90 cut to any angle, with the three arcs to mark - Rolled Olet: set a roll angle with a tape measure - Tube Bending: the four lines of a bend, worked out from the drawing's centerline, with the gain falling out of them - Tube Bending Run: tube, bends, tube - every line to mark and the length to cut, for the whole run at once - Pipe Information: bore, wall, circumference, and the weights you rig by - empty, full of water, and per foot THE FITTING FINDER Search the whole reference set without leaving the calculator. It opens on the size and connection you work in, keeps a shelf of the fittings you starred, and a click on any result opens everything that fitting measures - inside to end, outside to end, the with-gap variants, the bend - ready to drop straight into your sum. IN YOUR POCKET Built for a phone held one-handed on a rack: big keys, answers that read at arm's length, and everything reachable without a signal. On an iPad the pages open out - the drawing beside the numbers rather than above them. BUILT FOR THE TRADE Answers read the way a tape does. Drawings are to the steel's own proportions. Arrange the menus your way, star what you use, and it all persists. Some tools are part of Pro. The calculator, the fittings reference and pipe information are free to use. What's New in Pipe Craftsmen

2.0.0

August 31, 2026

Version 2.0 is a complete rebuild - new engine, new drawings, new tools - keeping every number you have been working to. - Grooved fittings join the reference: elbows, tees and crosses from the Victaulic tables, and the groove specification itself - gasket seat, width, diameter, and the lightest wall that may be roll or cut grooved - Two tools for tube: Tube Bending turns a drawing's centerline into the four lines you actually mark, and Tube Bending Run does it for a whole run at once, answering the first question first - the length of tube to cut - Flanges: all six kinds, ASME B16.5, classes 150-2500, with the raised-face rule built in - Threaded completes: street elbows, plugs and bushings, drawn to scale with the takeoff dimensioned on the steel - Pipe Offset and Rolled Offset now name the fitting each end needs, the pipe between and its weight - and say so plainly when an offset is too tight to build instead of printing a negative cut length - New tool - Equal Spread: the advance that keeps parallel lines parallel through a turn - Miter Joints draws the blank flat on the bench, marked for cutting - The calculator has Distance and Degrees modes, mode-aware memory, and the 45 multiplier - The Fitting Finder opens on the size and connection you work in, keeps a shelf of what you starred, and opens a fitting's whole set of numbers with one tap - Settings are grouped now - display, your defaults, fit-up and account - instead of one long scroll - Every shipped dimension audited against the previous release: 9,443 figures, zero mismatches
