Awful app

I’ve had my pump for over a year and the WiFi connection to the app only lasts a few weeks before it disconnects. It then takes over 40 minutes and deleting and resetting up the app for it to reconnect. For as much as I paid for this system, I’m highly disappointed.

App is essentially useless, doesn’t show cycles

Even when connected properly to the app, it will not show cycles. Battery levels most likely a static image. And the date is wrong without being able to change it. No update on the app after almost a year. At least I can hear my sump pump to know it’s running…

No Daily Cycles Shown!

For almost 6 months, we have had no daily cycles shown on the PitBoss app!!! We have tried deleting the app and reinstalling the app and it does not solve the issue.

Starting Amps?

The sump pump keeps tripping a ground circuit interrupter in the circuit. What are the starting amps for this pump, and is there a ground fault in the unit? I know submersible pumps can have this problem!

Wish I had options

My tile drain contractors only used pitboss. Shortly after 2 years the battery died on one and the float malfunctioned on the other. I wish I had a choice of brands.

Depending on Pitboss

We bought a house with driveway problems that diverted rainwater into its basement. 2 years and 10s of thousand dollars later, including engineers and attorney fees, we depend on pitboss to keep us current on how much our sump is pumping and when. The reports it makes go to engineer who designed the new drainage system, the contractor that built it, and our attorney. Its function, reliability, and real time monitoring has made a real solution possible at our place. Oh, and we’re dry.

Cycle History never works

I have two pumps now for over a year. One pump the cycle history never worked and the other worked for about 6 months. Frustrating that I can never tell if the pump has been running or to know how much water has been pumped. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, disconnecting the pumps, resetting home Wi-fi and none of it works.

Pit Boss - a good sump pump App

I like the Pit Boss app because it shows me the activity of my main and backup sump pumps, the power and backup battery status of the pumps and a history of alerts regarding the pumps. I wish the programmer had included a way to utilize the contact data to the pump vendors so clicking on the vendor’s phone number could initiate either a call or text message and clicking on their email would launch the start of sending the vendor an email.

Terrible app

I literally have a repeater/ router at 5 yards away installed for this reason and as a backup for outages but this app is clumpsy, lack of friendly straight forward support/instructions. I have tried plug-unplug-plug it back, reset… and still !! 🤮
P.s.: WE HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT THE COMPANY AND ONLY A VIRTUAL VOICEMAIL TAKES YOUR CALL. No immediate response.

Worse thank useless

Why an app to monitor a sump pump? Alarm goes off constantly due to issues with WiFi. Set up the app a year ago. Doesn’t remember the password. Use ‘forgot password’ to change and reset. Still won’t let me in. Hate is not a strong enough word to capture how I feel about this app.

Terrible app and support

I don’t know who told them that this app is reliable. Is unstable, clumpy. Who developed the interface of this? Even with the router next to it, it disconnects.

Horrible and clumpy app

I would like to know who is the developer of this terrible app. It should work like any WiFi-Alexa device: PLUG 🔌 AND PLAY and friendly. The settings are not responsive and you have to type passcode every single time, or when WiFi dropped, it take all day to catch up signal again…things like these

Great app! Works now!

When these guys first launched the app it was a little glitchy in the beginning and I had to log in and out sometimes. But the latest release fixed all the bugs. It’s so great to have a live view of my sump pumps from anywhere in the world. These pumps are rockstars. I called Richtech a few times for short and they were phenomenal. This is like the Sonos of sump pumps. Very modern. Love it.

Has never worked

Only worked for the first few days I downloaded. It’s been almost 16 months still does not work correctly. It’s currently been almost 6 months since last registered pump cycle even though I know the pump is cycling daily. A joke of an app

App works great

Easy to connect. Alerts are very helpful since I have a rental property and can’t always be there. Highly recommend getting this product for monitoring their sump pump.
