What's New in Pitch trainer

26.9.2

September 5, 2026

New stage: Harmonics When one string vibrates twice, three times as fast, the pitch climbs a staircase. This stage asks you to name that nth partial on the keyboard while you watch the string move. You start with partials 2–4 — where you touch a guitar at the 12th, 7th and 5th fret — and add one step at a time, all the way to shuffled questions. Eight steps in all, across twelve fundamentals. The "What are harmonics?" lesson lets you move the string and hear it work. Tap a dot to compare how far the notes a piano does not have (the 7th, 11th and 13th partials) sit from equal temperament. Now follows your text size setting Until now, making text larger in Settings did nothing inside the app. Home, lists, results and the game screens all follow it. A layout bug that squashed and overlapped the descriptions on the settings screen is fixed too. You can tell when "Slowly" is on In the tuning screens, "Slowly" makes the pitch barely move as you drag. People were hitting that without noticing and feeling the note would not go up, so a coloured bar now sits at the top while it is on. Tap the bar to turn it off. Also • Fixed a case where the tuner stopped picking up input after returning from another app • Contact now goes through an in-app form instead of email

Response from developer

TERRIFIC for ANY MUSICIAN!

I’ve pretty much had this app since early 2020, and I’ve loved it ever since. I really love the additions that this app has added on especially the rhythm games, new pitch games, tuner, metronome, etc. I REALLY love this app and I can’t wait to see what can be furthermore done with this app and its possibilities.

Response from developer

Thank you for sticking with Harmonize since 2020 — that means a lot. We're still building: the next update brings a new practice stage and a number of refinements to the existing ones. It hasn't shipped yet, so please give it a little time. If there's something you'd like to see in Harmonize, we'd love to hear it.

It is great and has helped me but….

I like this app so much and it helps me with pitch althoughI do wish the user could determine the range the pitch is in, Personally I wish I could choose the range of the bass guitar.

Response from developer

Thank you so much — it means a lot that Harmonize has been helping you. And what a wonderful idea. Choosing your own range to practice in, like the bass guitar’s, is exactly the kind of thing that would make this ear training richer. I’d love to look into adding it. Thank you for sharing it.

楽しくてためになる

音を上下させて、調和させるときの、濁りがだんだんと透き通っていくような感じが好きです。アンサンブルのための音程取りのトレーニングにもぴったりです。

Response from developer

うれしいご感想をありがとうございます。濁りが少しずつ澄んでいく、あの瞬間を楽しんでいただけて何よりです。アンサンブルの音程取りにも、ぜひ使ってみてください。

FAQ

What is this app for?

This app is designed to help users develop perfect and relative pitch through ear training exercises. It specifically focuses on the principles of just intonation, teaching users to identify and match harmonic intervals by ear.

How does the app teach just intonation?

The app plays two sounds simultaneously and requires users to match them based on just intonation principles, which differ from equal temperament. Users adjust the tone until they achieve a clear, beat-less sound, indicating a just interval.

Who would benefit from using this app?

This app is beneficial for a wide range of individuals, including those learning chords in just intonation, singers aiming for better karaoke performance, and members of brass bands and orchestras who require precise intonation.

Is this app free to use?

The application is free to download and use, but it does offer in-app purchases. This means certain features or content may require an additional purchase to access.

What is the reference tone used in the app?

The reference tone used for chords in this application is A=442 Hz. This standard tuning frequency ensures consistency in the exercises and helps users calibrate their ear training.
