What's New in PlainWalk

1.18.0

October 25, 2026

・The Real Map from the sky: open the Real Map with the map button at the top right, then choose Aerial from the round button at the bottom right to see your walks over the city from above. With Plus, View in 3D raises the buildings; without Plus, watch an ad to use it there and then. Tap a line to lift that walk out, or press and hold to open it and fix it. ・A nudge when you head out: if you often forget to open PlainWalk, turn on Profile › When you start moving › Notify me. A few minutes after you set off, it asks once; tap Record right on the Lock Screen. At most twice a day, and it goes quiet at times you don't need it. If something keeps it from working, When you start moving shows Paused; tap it to see why and how to fix it. ・Walking stats, redrawn: open Walking stats from Profile or Records. Your numbers count up and the charts grow in, and you can feel each one land. Tap a bar or a day to see its distance, or a personal best to open that walk, and see how much you covered walking, running, cycling or by vehicle. ・A daily step goal: open Walking stats and tap Set a daily step goal, or go to Profile › Settings › Steps. Your last 7 days of steps show as bars, with your goal as a dotted line. Steps today get a small ring on your map, and when you reach your goal, your map celebrates. Still short in the evening? One gentle nudge. Tap Steps today on your map to see how close you are, along with your last 7 days. ・Replay a trip or a week: in Records, open Watch your map grow and tap All days at the top left. Under Period, tap the dates and pick the first and then the last day on the calendar, then tap Play these days to watch your map grow with just those walks. ・Name your walks: open a walk, tap … at the top right and choose Add a name. It becomes the walk's title in Records, instead of the place name. Export as GPX and Delete are in the same menu now. ・Share photos in a white frame: open a photo from Spots or a walk and tap the share button at the top. It goes out in a white frame with the camera, lens and settings, the date and a small PlainWalk logo. Put the details in the middle or on the left, and keep the shape or crop to 4:5, 1:1 or 3:4. Photos you take or add from now on keep these details, even when saved to the Photos app. ・Portrait in PlainWalk's camera: while walking, tap Spot, then ƒ at the top of the camera. After you shoot, choose how soft the background gets, from f/1.4 to f/16. Works on cameras that can sense depth, like a dual camera or LiDAR. ・Add photos from your other camera: open a walk in Records and tap Add photos. Photos from a camera without GPS, or with its clock off, can now be placed by tapping your route on the map; each one gets the time you passed that point. If the camera's clock is a few hours off, PlainWalk notices and fixes them all at once. ・Line things up on your page: move a photo or sticker and it clicks onto the middle of the page and the edges of what's already there; turn it near level and it straightens. With nothing selected, pinch the page or double-tap it to zoom in on the part you're working on. Drag the small handle on washi tape to change its width, stretch hand-drawn doodles from their edges, and fade anything with Opacity. ・Touch up your stickers: when choosing a sticker, tap the brush on the selected one to paint in what was missed or erase what got caught. Your stroke snaps to the shape underneath, and a magnifier shows what's under your finger. On iOS 27, Select anything picks exactly what you tap or circle, at full photo resolution. Photos taken with PlainWalk's camera on an iPhone with a dual camera or LiDAR use depth to drop the background behind the subject. ・Kilometers or miles: choose kilometers or miles in Profile › Settings › Units, whatever your region. Distances, areas and speeds all follow, including your widgets and Apple Watch.

User reviews

I LIVE FOR THIS

This is beautiful. Download this app now. I’ve been waiting to walk more and now I have an excuse too. Thank you!!
