Conquer the schedule

This is a very serviceable little app and helped me with my 2025 visit. While you can’t book tickets on it, you can input your dates, event wishlist and it maps the whole thing out for you and points out any clashes. Plus it suggests nearby shows that fit with your timings. Loved using it. Superior to official app IMO.

Better than nothing!

This app is an improvement over the regular fringe app. I like the “nearby afterwards” function but it’s too bad that it isn’t also a “nearby beforehand “ function. It would also be better to be able to choose genre in that function, especially because a lot of the “shows” that come up in the function are actually exhibits that are open all day for the entire fringe. Likewise if the browse feature allowed specifying time and location that would be helpful. And once we added a show to our schedule, we couldn’t delete it. Finally, it’s unfortunate that it doesn’t have a feature of actually buying tickets.

Very useful app - but missing a couple of key features

This app makes planning a trip to The Fringe so much easier. Anyone who has been will know that simply the vast number of shows to choose from means figuring out the logistics for any visit can be daunting. This app remove a lot of the pain and time in working this out.

It would benefit from two additional features:

1. Adding Start Time to the search filter - at present, you can only filter by date

2. Being able to input multiple date ranges for visits. At present, you can only put in one date range as the app seems to assume that people only visit once. I typically visits a few different days throughout August and want to be able to plan a schedule for the whole month, not by one day at a time.

Useless

Like all fringe apps, it's rubbish.

It's nearly ok, but it's not. What it needs - and what they all need - is to just let me set location as a zone/distance, genre, and TIME. Not just "today".

It remains useless

Essential for Edinburgh Fringe planning

I’ve been using this app for years. The team have carefully improved it each year and I wouldn’t want to be at the Fringe without it. There are so many shows - this app provides a really usable structured way to find out about shows from the main EdFringe listings, to note the things you’d like to see and then it takes all the pain out of scheduling, so you minimise the amount of walking up Edinburgh hills and really make the most of your time here. It’s flexible enough to add in and reschedule shows as you need, and if you need or want to schedule in non-Fringe time (lunch or dinner!) you can do that too. A great app - 100% recommended!

Very good

First time at The Fringe and it can be overwhelming. This app is weak thought out and has made random discovery fun!

Indispensable tool for making the best of your Fringe visit

This app is phenomenal and has taken all the hard work out of optimizing my time at the Fringe and packing in as many shows as possible into my schedule. Its ability to take into account travel times between venues and find nearby shows to fill in gaps is brilliantly executed. Thank you so much to the developer(s) behind this (and the web site)!

Useful but could be better

It would be great if we could import the schedule and Favourites. Plus, more recently, it shows missing, meaning they need to be manually added, which is a pain. But once the shows are in, it is excellent and helpful to show gaps and walking time between shows

Update: app has not been updated to this years “fringe day” where dates/times reflect the actual day. Makes all useless for planning after midnight shows.

Best Edinburgh Fringe App

I’ve used this app the last two years. It is much more user friendly than the official app. And faster. I ‘m able to search for shows nearby and soon, and can expand the search both in terms of start time and distance. I also like that it gives me travel time to the venue I’m looking at. Thanks!

Base map not loading

Brilliant last year but base map not showing up this year. Please fix!

Who needs the official app anymore?

I was devastated when EdFringe said they weren’t doing an official app in 2022, and then I found Plan My Fringe. Seriously guys, massive well done to you. This is a great free app - the wish list rating system is way better than the official version was. Thank you for making my fringe experience so much easier!

The best thing since sliced spreadsheets

The Plan My Fringe app has saved me hours of preparation for the Edinburgh Fringe festival. It is easy to use and the “What’s On Nearby After?” helps to fill any gaps should they appear. By adding a select few shows, events, or exhibitions the app can even start making suggestions for you.

Gone are the days of trawling through the weighty tome that is the Fringe Festival guide, followed by the meticulous plotting and measuring required to get from one venue to another, then all plotted into a colour-coordinated spreadsheet.

Navigate Edinburgh Fringe App

New or old to the Edinburgh Fringe. This is the essential guide you need with nearby shows, new recommendations based on wish list and scheduling to help you plan or have a spontaneous day by using the near me now button. Check it out and you will never go back to your excel sheet or paper programme!! Well done Mark and Maddy + team. The Fringe wouldn’t be the same without you now.

Crashing

This looked like it’d be great - but any time I tried to login it would crash. Again. And again. And again.

Hopeful and then crashes. If I could I’d give it zero stars - I’m just so frustrated

Doesn’t work

Filters don’t work and neither does the browse function

Many features don’t work

The filter by distance and time buttons don’t work

Brilliant app

I’ve used Plan My Fringe two years running now and it’s been invaluable. You can see at a glance how feasible it is to move between venues and eliminate overlapping shows. It’s five stars from me anyway but what would make it absolutely perfect would be if you could drop a map pin to locate where you’re staying too. As someone who started off with the colour coded spreadsheet method last year before discovering the app, I’m truly grateful to the developers. I hope there will be a 2020 version.

Great app

Really useful. Used it loads to help me plan what I’m going to do

Awful

Every time I try to register this app it bounces out. Utterly useless. Save yourself some time & don’t bother with it.

Awful

Dreadful waste of time and money don’t bother
