About

Every trip is better with a familiar face. Planefriends brings the aviation community together between flights. Share the places you discover, see what your friends are up to, and keep the connection going beyond the layover. SHARE YOUR MOMENTS Post photos or quick P.A. announcements. Add an optional location, tag people, and keep the conversation going with likes, comments, and replies. Explore your friends’ updates or discover public posts from the community. SEE WHO’S AROUND Explore posts on the map and choose to check in to a layover city or a flight. Public city check-ins help you find other members nearby; flight check-ins are visible only to accepted friends. Device location is requested for actions you choose, with no continuous background device tracking. FIND YOUR PEOPLE IN CREW LOUNGE A layover doesn’t have to feel like going solo. Verify your location to join airport chat lounges within 40 miles—no check-in required. Meet nearby crew, make plans, swap local tips, or connect during irregular operations. Reply, react, and tap a profile to start a private conversation. Lounge messages disappear after 24 hours, with mute, block, and report controls available. INVITE A FRIEND Share your personal invitation link or QR code. Existing members can find you directly; new members can choose to send a friend request after joining. Enable your profile QR to share your profile in person, even when username discovery is off. Private posts and check-ins stay protected. KEEP YOUR CREW CONNECTED Send direct messages or start a group conversation with your Planefriends. Hosting a Crew Debrief? Share its private QR code so guests can add their preferred name and number without an account. Open a group-text draft with the crew directory ready to review and send yourself. CHOOSE WHAT YOU SHARE Use public or private profiles, control username discovery, and approve tagged photos. Report content, block members, and delete your account from inside the app. OPTIONAL NOTIFICATIONS Enable notifications for messages, friend requests, tags, likes, comments, and replies. Notification previews exclude private message text and live-location details. An account and internet connection are required for member features. Location and notifications are optional. Flight information may be delayed or incomplete; Planefriends is not for navigation, dispatch, emergency use, or confirming someone’s safety.
