It’s often difficult for the elderly or infirm to participate in environmental issues, but this way we can feel that we’re making a contribution in some small way, not just tut-tutting and leaving it to others.
Won’t work on my phone
Love the idea of this and think it very important, but having downloaded it to my iPhone, despite repeated efforts I cannot get it to work, nor can any of my family members, aged between27 and 68 in various parts of GB, who have downloaded to their iPhones. I contacted planet patrol for help and they sent me a link so I could complete the water watch survey, but said they felt mine was a one off problem. Just looked at my Planet Patrol App again - still no sign of anything to do with waterwatch on it. I don’t feel confident I’ll be able to take part in future surveys - although I am keen to.

Good idea
Good app but I was disappointed having signed up for paddle boarding and discovering it wasn’t a river clean up but a park one. Happy to play my part.

Too buggy can’t get past login screen
Great idea but the app doesn’t work on iPhone. Every time I try to login it crashes. I regularly attend organised beach cleans so we could be logging a lot of litter!
I even tried the web app and that didn’t work either!!

Great idea but...
Many times I get a message « index error » when I scan a product and every time if I try to fill in manually I know it is not easy to manage the bar code process but for the manual recording it should be easier. Great job by the way keep moving !
My most used app
Love this app!! Has so much potential to solve litter and our throwaway society. Really easy to use and great way to add something purposeful to walks. Literally takes 30s to record litter and makes a massive difference. Love seeing my impact on my profile and the map!

Love this app and how it focuses on calling out the brands that are the biggest polluters. Easy to use and keeps you wanting to gather more trash!! This is @paddle4plastic and I approve this application!!
Crashes
Crashes for no apparent reason despite at least 10 tries to login/sign up. Sort it out - I’m so keen to join and record local litter but I can’t contribute any data if the app doesn’t work?!

I love love love the concept of this app and want everyone to use it but it’s so difficult and fidgety to use and after trying several times won’t upload my items. Hopefully these are just teething problems and can be easily fixed cause I want to recommend this in the future

I couldn’t possibly imagine a better app to have on your phone. Whenever you’re out and about you can track the brands which are indirectly littering our planet - it’s as simple as that - do your bit - and if you can, recycle or dispose of the litter you find
So frustrating
I really want this to work and I’ve been very patient with it but it’s so frustrating to use. I often find once I’ve added all the details and then click ‘submit’, the app crashes and the details don’t upload. The +/- buttons are tiny too and not very responsive so I’ll sit there for ages adding 50 wet wipes. I was asked to add brand names to my submissions which takes ages and the first time I did a huge upload with brand names, the app crashed. So I’ve given up with it for the time being until the bugs are fixed.

Such a great idea and tool but needs tweaking
I am a huge fan and supporter of Plastic Patrol, and I so badly want this app to succeed, but I have to admit that we have done several litter picks recently and not uploaded them simply because this app is really finicky to use and tedious. It takes almost as much time to enter each brand and item than it does to pick them up. It would be much easier if you could manually enter quantities rather than having to click the + sign to count the number of items. The + button is tiny and often doesn’t register the count. I should just be able to choose a brand/item from a drop down/scroll menu and then manually type in the number, or even a scroll option for quantity. When you’re doing 100+ item litter picks like we do, entering the + sign 50 times is frustrating.

Cannot use with iphone

Please fix this app so it works with iPhone. I haven't been able to load any pictures for a month, it just freezes when you try and upload one. I've tried on WiFi, on 4G.. I've tried logging out and back in again.. I've tried deleting the app and reinstalling.. and still nothing.
Please fix this :(

We all need to get involved
This app is a great tool that we can all use to fight back against all sorts of pollution. Just make sure your location setting is ON for your device AND your camera app before you photograph the pollution, and know that when you upload the picture the information in your photograph will be used to help our planet.
