good concept, but…
the first thing i scanned when i downloaded this app was the ingredients of some Ilia mascara. when i scanned it the first time, it said there were no plastics in the ingredients. i scanned it again just in case, and it said there were two “sceptical microplastic” ingredients, polyglyceryl-6 distearate and polyglyceryl-10 myristate. i figured that these ingredients must have been missed the first time, so i went through the ingredients that were logged in the first scan. nope. they were there, in the first scan, marked as “not plastic.” after looking up polyglyceryl-6 distearate and polyglyceryl-10 myristate,
it seems they are both just glycerin with some form of acid. i didn’t see any source that mentioned plastics or microplastics in either of them.
